If there were no Le Mans....

Just suppose there were no Le mans race next year due to safety fearsfor example , where do you think would be a suitable location to stage the event away from La sathre while the track was improved? is there already a place where it could be held or would a new circuit have to be built , possibily in france still.

The only circuit in the world with the charisma of the Circuit du Sarthe is the Nurburgring Nordschliefe. Although if you were looking for a safer venue then this might not be ideal

i hate to think of it, i don't think sportscars would survive without Le Mans, but if we could race at Le Mans or Nurburgring proper track, possibly somewhere like Spa-Fracachamps or Mt Panarama in Australia, but neither would be anything compared to Le Mans

I agree GT racing wouldn't be the same without Le Mans but we could do with something similar in the UK!

If only there were a suitable public road circuit similar to Le Mans- I'm sure there are plenty of decent roads we could use.

The M25 would be perfect!

i've been thinking about this one for some time, and can't think of a decent, available course. they're all just too short. the old spa and nurgburgring would be spectacular, but those are mere dreams. by default, I'd choose watkins glen, just because it's already so rich in history, a 24hr race would just fit, even though at a little less than half of le sathre's lentgh, it just doesn't seem right

The only 2 places I can think of are Spa and Bathurst although the M25 would be a very good place to start a new race. It would have to be renamed the M'24' though.
