With today's sorry news that SMP have withdrawn their 2 cars from LMP1, who can we expect to turn up at Le Mans in 2020?
The remaining 2019/20 WEC field have auto entries, provided no one else throws in the towel, and Rebellion can fund two cars, and Ginetta actually put a team together. ByKolles have said they plan to do a few races next year, probably only in Europe, including Le Mans. That would be subject to the entry committee approving their entry request but it's hard to see them turning an LMP1 away, especially if ByKolles unveil their 2020/21 hypercar at the race, as planned. Corvette will be welcomed with open arms due to the lack of GTE Pro entries and the fact they will have a new car. And loyalty and tradition. Similarly, the factory Porsche team will have no problem getting an extra two entries if they want them. That would take Pro up to 10 cars, which would be a respectable entry. Would BMW try to get their IMSA cars in? Maybe. There will be several more gaps filled by auto entries from the other ACO series later in the year, and plenty of ELMS runners looking for a place. |

07x LMP1 (Kolles and second Rebellion) 24x LMP2 10x PRO (Corvette and extra Porsches) 21x AM |

Wirth Ford, BMW, SMP out, we are speaking about 8 cars. Will be Nice of they coud open thé race to thé DPi (2 Mazda I guess and a couple of Cadillac)

It looks like Ben Keating will be stepping away from IMSA GTD, and possibly running his Ford in ELMS. If so, surely he would have a good shot at getting into LM.

On the MP podcast this week, GG was talking about the SMP situation and thought it could be possible to see an SMP make a Le Mans appearance. Nothing in the works, but just that it is in the realm of things that could happen. I'm sure the ACO wouldn't turn down another P1 entry if it was in the works.

But why paint it red? Obviously painted by a person with no idea what a corvette should look like, but the car itself looks good or will do in Yellow.
