Le Mans 2003 :- The Entry List

Ok I know we are 359 days away from the start of Le Mans 2003, but I have had my crytal ball out and I have had a go at working out which car my take the start, I may be of course be completly wrong, so here goes. Again I have gone for 50 starters like in this years race, so here it is the entry list for Le Mans 2003, 359 days early:-

Le Mans 2003

14. Pescarolo Sport Courage
15. Ascari Ascari
16. Team Cadillac Cadillac
17. Team Cadillac Cadillac
18. Racing For Holland Dome

20. Courage Courage

LMP 675

21. Chamberlin MG
22. Chamberlin MG

45. Luc Alphand Porsche
46. Spyker Spyker
47. Taisan Porsche
48. JMB Ferrari
49. MG Sport MG
50. MG Sport MG

So what do you think, the brake down of each class compared to this year is:-

2003 2002
LMP900/GTP 20 21
LMP675 7 7
GTS 12 10
GTO 13 12

So as you can see the classes have about the same number of cars in them as this year, but who know as I have said it is only guess work on my part, so we will wait see and some mid March - early April when the real thing comes out how many I have got right.

As this when I predicted the starts for this years race back in March I got out 35 of 50 which is not bad guess work if I do not say so my self.

Well, that line up would be very nice. I might even pay more attention to the GTs!

Roll on April!!!!

Seriously though I'd love to see those 4 Bentleys, maybe a couple more prototypes.

And no Porsche prototype? The rumours are false then? You heard it here first!!

Spyker are going to enter two cars next year. Of course they were going to enter 2 cars this year too ... but Mr. Mueller said that they intend to get two cars in the field next year once they get their restrictions lifted.

While I enjoyed seeing the Alex Job guys race each other, I'd like to see an AJR entry in 2003 as it'd beat the sox off the entire field and Sascha and Lucas could do it without any assistance!

At least 1 Lister LMP900 in 2003 I hope .... and what about those Lotus GTP's, it's about time we had rumours about them rearing there heads at Le Sarthe again (this is of course a very silly idea!).

I'm hoping for more Prodrive 550s next year... i suppose Rafanelli could do the decent thing and buy a car from them!

If there's an Ascari I'd be pleasantly surprised.

And if there are any Vipers, its surely the last time out for them?
What sort of GTO MG do you envisage? that DeTomaso/Qvale cast-off surely won't make it?

JMB will probably despair of doing any more thankless development work on the 360. Well, depending on how well they go at Spa. If they can make the car last 6 hours there are points available.

We'll see a Pagani, I hope... and for a real wild card, how about the Dauer Bugatti EB110, or the Edonis?

By the way, the FIA will finally get their way and prototypes will be banned....

The MG X80 is currently being developed by a race team (can't remember who, I think its DPR) for sale as a customer car..

MG have stated that they want to be seen racing cars that the public can buy. So logically, and if the budget permits, the X80 could be a worthy factory car.

Lets just hope that MG see sense and race these cars and get Hugh Chamberlain to run any future attempts.

Part of the entry relies upon who wins the various classes at Petit Le Mans later this year...

I'm easy on the entry.

I just want to see as few Audi's as possible.

There won't be any works MG (675) next year so Chamberlain should be scratched off. Ascari too unfortunately. Would Joest build a Bentley, I'd have thought they'd be working on the proposed Porsche car.
