Just spoken to Peter at iconic memory and he informs me that a 10 Tenths T should be possible. Basically we would need a minimum of 30 advance orders, and would need to decide quickly what design we would be looking for...

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>
Hi Craig!

Thanks for this e-mail.
You raise an interesting question.
In short, a Ten Tenths T-shirt is possible.

It may take a while to develop, mainly because we have just entered
my printers busy season - producing for the great NZ summer.
Generally, I try to develop new designs in winter, when he has more
'down time'.

However, if we use existing cars, then in effect the development has
been done - ink tones, shading levels, squeegee pressures, etc...
Lettering tends to be 100% colour at 100% pressure. No big deal.

OK, let's talk turkey:

I suggest you take a look at all my cars, and pick 2...
1939 Mercedes-Benz W163
1954/55 Mercedes-Benz W196
1956 Lancia-Ferrari D50A
1957 Maserati 250F
1958 Vanwall
1961 Ferrari 156 Sharknose
1975 Ferrari 312T
1982 Ferrari 126C2
1998 Ferrari F310
1998 Mclaren MP4/13

With a 1 car design - say a Ferrari - what McLaren or Jordan fan
is going to buy it? 2 cars should satisfy more fans & broaden the
appeal. The trick is to get the right 2 cars...

IF your membership is interested in both classic and modern F1,
go for a classic car plus a modern; say 156 Sharknose & MP4/13.
If modern only, maybe Ferrari & McLaren.

Adding text is easy, as long as I design it using a colour in the cars.

If you seriously want to go ahead with this:
1. Tell me which (one) or 2 cars you favour.
2. Send me a few lines of exactly what it is about Ten Tenths that
appeals to your readers - preferably what is unique.
Then I can work on a 'punch line'

30 would be a minimum run, and if I factor my time in,
I would barely cover my costs. So we may have to consider selling
these without the 10% discount - at least for a while.

Kick the idea around and tell me what you think.
If we do go ahead, we should be able to have them ready for December
delivery. Thinking ahead, if a simple standard design is agreed,
then later 'special editions' would be possible, simply adding
a line of text - "Le Mans Tour 2000" or whatever.

Cheers

Peter

Please post your thoughts and suggestions.

For what it's worth, I would suggest that we went for two classic cars rather than modern ones, if the arguments on the F1 forum are anything to go by!

Great idea!

With regard to the car choice, I suggest we wait until Sunday, and select the historic and modern versions of the victorious team...

I'd buy one regardless of who wins, 'coz it's not our 'decision' who wins.

Can we wait 'til Sunday... Please!?

I'm not having my free one with a bloody Mac on it!!!.....I'd prefer Frank Williams' smiley face....now there's an idea...how about the five smiley images and the ten-tenths banner with "ARSE" on the back?

Great idea.
You can count on me.
But does it have to be a formula one car?
Ten-Tenths is about motorsport in general.
What about our Nascar, Cart, Touring Car members etc?
Can't it just say 'Ten-Tenths Motorsport', accompanied by the internet address.
Whatever you'll decide, I'm with you.

Gerard.

Put me down for one.

I agree. I would be just as happy with Ten-Tenths logo and the website address.

Maybe you could list some of the motorsport series on the back rather than focusing on just F1 or just BTCC, etc? In fact, rather than just listing them down, have them randomly placed on the back of the T-shirt with a backdrop of Ten-Tenths logo. Am I getting to 'arty' now?

Maybe you could have one printed with a Sierra on it just for Daniel

I've got a great punch line for our Ionic friend - tentenths.com. Or at least put the URL on somewhere. Perhaps the back like this onelist T!

I'm in! But I agree with Gerard, does it have to be an F1 car? If you're picking 2 cars, maybe one F1 and one other. If you are going the F1 route, I agree that older cars are safer

Or... why not just buy a job lot of white T-shirts and some T-shirt transfers, and make em yourself, providing you have a printer. Alternatively see if anyone else has some design talent, a decent PC and printer and the time to do it who would like to volunteer.

Lets do it Craig !!!!!

I like your title page logo with the Benetton on it. Stands out but I fear that an arguement is going to break out over this one as we each like our own little design.
I dont know the answer to this one yet but we should get some FRIENDLY debate on what should be put on it.

maybe some kind of colage (sp) which blends all forms of racing into it could be the answer but I guess that would be expensive.
I dont know but I like the idea .
so come on people lets get them brains working and come up with something that we can all agree on

OK folks, just made an announcement ref the shirts @ http://tentenths.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000062.html

Don't let that stop the discussion on who should be on the shirts if and when we do release them! As I say in the announcement, it's purely down to the fact that the standard collection have not been very well received that we have been forced into this decision. If sales pick up there, you never know...

Personally I'd like the old logo with Alan McNish on it and the website. Or the current one with the Bennetton but without "Click to Enter".

If we're going to have two cars, I'd like one with That Muller Picture - the upsidedown one - and the Zipmobile.

However, AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A CURRENTLY RUNNING McLAREN*, I will take half a dozen. That is a serious order. I am going to give them away as gifts besides the one I intend to wear and the second one I intend to keep as a spare!

*unless said McLaren shirt also features a picture of Crying Mika at Monza on the back, maybe ....

Sorry Liz - there'll be no 10 Tenths shirt. At least for the foreseeable future, anyway. You would be very welcome to buy a standard T Shirt or three though...

Anakin - huh ? What do you need to know about the 'fourth' T ?

Can you get the matching "Michael Schumacher World Driving Champion 1998" caps to go with them? Just overprint the lot "OOPSY!"

Or overprint barge boards?

Sorry, haven't been about for a while.
Craig, maybe I'm not seeing the frames properly, but when I went to order a t-shirt there were 3 pictures for the front:
The recreation of Maranello
Silver Arrows
The legend races on

However, when I went to choose and pay for one, I was given a choice of
Golden Age
Silver Arrows
Re-creation of ...
The legend ....

If there's a frame I'm not seeing, I just want to know what 'Golden Age' looks like (in case it's something I'd actually wear, instead of having to find someone to give it to for Christmas ). That's all.

Anakin,
There /is/ a fourth design - Peter wanted to leave a bit of 'mystery' - something to encourage people to click through to his site. Take a look at http://www.iconic-memory.com/ for full details of the shirts... Just don't forget to enter [10 Tenths] on your order form, as indicated, to receive your 10% discount and earn us our commission!

Oscar,
Click on the banner and see for yourself! There will be no 10 Tenths T shirt. We are, however, offering Peter Craven's superb shirts
for sale from this site. As stated above, there is a 10% discount and a commission for us!

Go on people - get buying!
