Does anyone else know what the campings going to be like and where it will be? Only camped there twice before for the WTCC/FIA GT, and for the moto GP, the moto gp camping was rubbish! and it took us 6 hours to get out of the car park on the sunday evening!
Silverstone camping was pretty good for the last few years at LMS. Anyone got any info for camping? Cheers |

If that's anything to go by then the last hour or so of the race looks like being a little damp...?

Considering recent British weather, whatever they predict, I'll be carrying an umbrella too!
Saturday looks quite horrible... |

Just my luck though - one of the few races that won't be interupted/delayed by DTM or BTCC on MotorsTV...

I didn't win the tickets here but did win some from Autosport so I'll be there supporting my favourite driver Stefan Johansson on Sunday!

I live 5 minutes from Brands and Carlin Motorsport have invited us down for an interview and access to the team BUT I must stay true to my word. We are going to Donington on Friday afternoon (Andrewn - we are going to join Speed Chills today so see you at the campsite - the tour podcast). Cant wait for the weekend. Gutted to miss racing on the Brands GP (Wish LMS was there instead) but lets get behind the race at Donny and make sure the attendance isn't as embarrassing as last year at Silverstone. |

I don't think attendance figures will be too much of a problem provided it doesn't rain as much as it did last year.
Personally, I'm praying my luck changes. I've missed one or two race meeting's I'd have preferred to have gone to see (Le Mans included, sadly), but the last dry-weather race meeting I attended was Silverstone's FIA GT round back in early 2005! Even if it's just overcast this weekend, I'd be mighty pleased! |

Frankly, you're unlucky- this year has been fantastic for motorpsort.
FIA GT Silverstone was almost as good as '05, and Silverstone Classic was as ever immense. I missed last Years LMS after seeing th superb '04 package- why couldn't they do tht this year? but i'm glad to be back this! |

One thing I've never really got my head round is the fact that every year we hear that 60,000 odd Brits go to LM, some are purely going for the atmosphere and some for the race. Presumably those going for the racing aspect are sportscar fans so why don't they all turn up to support the LMES when it comes to the UK? Even if the true sportscar fans are say a quarter of the total, that would still be a good turnout by previous standards.
The attendance always leaves me disappointed. Anyway, I for one am looking forward to Sunday. |

2005 was a disaster on all counts, pretty similar to the 2006 GP Masters which Silverstone replaced the LMS with! Maybe that says more about Silverstone and their obsession with F1 than the attractiveness of any particular series. Afterall Brands has managed to bring in the fans for DTM, A1GP and other lower profile events, Oulton had 20,000+ for the Bank Holiday British GT race and Snetterton had a BTCC rivaling crowd thanks to backing from Ascari. I have confidence Donington will do a decent job this year, and with backing from Audi/Peugeot in 2007, lets see what can be achieved. Last edited by JAG; 22 Aug 2006 at 19:02. |
