The CAT car looks good - back to the old bold CAT signage which has always been my fav.

A factory team relying on a truck engine manufacturer for funding?

What's wrong with this picture? So much for Ford's big commitment to motorsport in Australia.

from what I believe CAT actually sponsor Craig, not the team - so if you look at advertising per dollar, that's a lot of dollars!! Since FPR are 100% owned by Prodrive ( can't see it on the car dammnit!) I don't think they 'rely' on CAT for anything

Why should Ford have to tip the money in when they can gain a sponsor like CAT or Ford Credit. Who's money would you rather spend, yours or somebody elses?

Does it matter who the money comes from? I would imagine the only thing any team owner cares about is that the money is in the bank, not who actually puts it there.

I think most people think of CAT Earthmoving equipment before truck engines.

But yeah, great to see full CAT colors instead of that awful hybrid thing they had last year.

Um, they're not the race cars...mockups only.

Ready for the national tour (motor show/event to motorshow/event), most probably.

So here's me thinking... why didnt the brainstrust at Ford not put the 2 cars in the same livery... keep the branding the same on car #5 and #6 so Seton and Lowndes are running the same brands on their cars?

Ford is pretty much the primary sponsor of the #5 car anyway, thru the credit operation, or the FPV branding exercise.... will Ford sell a single extra car on the basis of having the FPV brand on the side of Seton's car?

They could have de-emphasised the CAT branding, incorporated Ford Credit and FPV on both vehicles, so the team looks like they are a professional operation, rather than having one sponsored car, and one with an OzLotto truck full of backing from Ford.

Case in point... why are there 2 different logos on the 2 different cars for Delphi??? Which in the not to distant past was a GM company?

NASCAR teams run dual liveries and get gajillions of dollars from their sponsors for doing so.

IF DONE CORRECTLY, the dual livery thing can work to the teams' and sponsors' advantage.

Don't question Ford's $$$ commitment to FPR - most of the other Ford teams would love half (or even a third) as much money as what FPR get.

If you can get a sponsor, why not run with it? Everyone still knows its the factory car.

Case in point "IF DONE CORRECTLY" which in this case hasnt shown so far....

I dont question Ford's commitment to spending the dollars at FPR, I just dont see the benefit when there are private teams doing more with less...

And as I have been relaibly informed from someone inside CAT, truck engines are the biggest part of the business, earthmoving is the smaller part. Truck engine sales in North America are huge.

I DISagree 110%!!! 2 cars on the track in the same colours together (Specially if they are 1 & 2) looks great in my books!!!

One livery is required if you get a cracker of a livery.
