When the WRC was contemplating using the Pikes peak hill climb a few year ago as a stage in the US rallye (which what happened to the US rallye anyway)
why don't they do a superspecial stage and time these guys around the Nordschliefe? the WRC cars going for broke around nurby would be spectacular and the FIA can role the event with some others that same weekend.... and off to finish RallyeDeutscheland in the usual stages. everyone would love to see the WRC circus try to break record there and it is just as safe if not more than any other crazy stage they ever think of... (I mean Africa and running into lions and elephant and buffalo- or wales running into cattle, or...) the dakar nutters runnning into Armed bandits... so the Ring seems tame and what a show it'd be- one at a time now. not a gridded race mind you a proper one car (driver and codriver/with notes!) go. |
