New Aussie Motorsport magazine
If you haven't seen it by now by this Friday there'll be a new local racing mag called Racer Australia. It's edited by Tony Glyn ex AA and MSN Technical Editor and published by Ray Soloman formally conected with the ill fated Adrenalin Motorsport complex and now reviving the old Bacchus Marsh speedway.
I haven't seen a copy but from what Tony told me at the Island it will be more features than up to date news or race reports and judging by the picture of the front cover there isn't a V8 Supercar in sight. Whether there's enough demand for such a mag will be interesting as previous attempts at similar projects have pretty much all sunk without a trace. Certainly there's a need for it, so I wish them all the best of luck. |

IPL am I right in saying it is aimed to come out monthly ?
One might assume it could have a slight Speedway bias, certainly in the Summer months considering Ray Soloman has been a Sprintcar owner for at least 10 years, and as you said is currently promoting "Rolling Thunder Raceway" I'll look for a copy tomorrow, or Saturday night at Bacchus Marsh, watching both Sprintcars & Midgets on the same program. |

About $5.50 - $6.00 I think. And yes judging by the first cover there'll be lots of Speedway stuff, biggest photo though is the Audi R10 so that's a pretty good start IMHO |

The mag (newspaper actually) arrived at the local news agent today. Unlike what I had been led to believe it's a tabloid on fairly cheap newsprint but it's all in colour.
There's plenty of technical and workshop profiles of the like that we haven't seen since, well since Editor Tony Glynn was with MSN and AA. There is a fairly hefty Speedway component and a lot of space dedicated to AASA/AMRS stuff which might be not totally disconected with the full page ad that accompanies it. There's certainly plenty to read with the word count per page way higher than either MSN or AA. |
