I don't think I want to know. I've volunteered as usual because I'm a sucker for long distance sportscars, and I know we're going to get done over again on the programme. I think I'll just take the caravan down on Thursday night and then look at the timetable so that I don't get put off in advance.

I take it the ACO take liberties with the timetable??? Never marshalled this event before but I'm on the list as its my first season, and like you Woolley I'm a huge endurance fan, so what can I expect? Any info is helpful in planning.

Cheers.

Al
Working it out for you Alan....
1000 k = 195 laps of the GP circuit....and that would normally take more than 6 hours so expect race distance to be the full 6 hour maximum..

Regards Roy

That's the gentle way of putting it. Forgetting to schedule required night practices, 14 hour days etc. To be even handed to the ACO, it hasn't always been their fault. Often I suspect we fall a little foul of failed communications between them and the UK organising club. Which may be a fixed problem this year, but go prepared.

As Wolley says, if long distance floats your boat, you don't want to miss it. But go prepared for a hard weekend nonetheless.

And hoping there's not so much 'boating' as last time. I have to concede that the atrocious weather didn't help the organizers keep to the already unrealistic proramme. I shall put my to use and assume that lessons have been learned until proven otherwise. Hopeless optimism is the only way to approach it this time.

No day night race this time round so that shouldn't pose a problem but I was there 2yrs ago and yes I did get very wet (just as a speccy) until I found my way into a Luffield covered stand and dried out a bit! Always knew it was gonna be a hard weekend, especially as I'm down for ALL 3 days! I must be a nutter! Still one has to suffer for ones beliefs on occasion!

Experience tells me the best way to enjoy the meeting is to work two days and Speccy the other. Otherwise you'll be almost totally spent by Sunday.

As I said before, just because it isn't on the provisional programme and final instructions, doesn't mean the session won't happen on the weekend

am definately here now i guess the lack of tickets at present is due to similar reasons as on the 'top hat @ mallory' thread.

plus i thought i would resurrect this thread from the 3rd page so there was only 1 LMES thread.

For non ES duties I've put our usual 7.30am for each day. There will be vouchers so do get there prompt in order to allow time to queue up (judging by last weekend's experience and because there is a pretty healthy number of volunteers for this meeting).

On Saturday we'll need the extra time to book everybody in and confirm the post allocations. On Sunday please make your presence known to us ASAP in case we need to make any tweeks before the slightly earlier start.

The BRSCC only received its supply of tickets during the 24 Hours meeting so most went in the post today (taken straight to the sorting office in Milton Keynes on my way home this afternoon). I did manage to get a few in the envelopes at Silverstone yesterday (literally as the cars were taking the chequered flag) so thanks to all who came to Race Control to collect theirs and sincere apologies to those whose who had a wasted journey because I hadn't been able to do yours.

Would love to have been there, normally do it but it's 1st Anniversary this weekend (Paper I think) so it's Paris instead.

Oh well, next year perhaps
