A Question of money...
Perhaps someone can help me. What sort of money would it cost a team to develop a GTS car without manufacturer support. The Porsche 911 Biturbos that, for example, PSI Motorsport run in Belcar - what kind of figures are you looking at for that sort of project?

The amount of money you need totally depends on how professional you want it.
For Belcar you just transform a Porsche streetcar into a racecar. That can cost you as little as 500.000,- Euro. Or cheat with something like a stealth. If you let Oreca do it for you, like the Maserati 3500. They will only start after giving them 3 million. And than who knows more for developement. (i think the 3500 will suit GT better) And if you want a proper job hire Prodrive for somthing like 7 million for a Koenigsegg. And some more for developement. GTS=GTA in Belcar is totaly diffrent than ACO/FIA-GTS, To compete with the MC12 in FIA-GT you need something like a Prodrive Koenigsegg, To compete with the GLPK Viper in Belcar, a secondhand Lister will do the job for you. Or develop a special like the Stealth or Holden Monaro 7.1. |
