Larbre Competition to miss Enna-Pergusa
Triple FIA GT Championship-winning team, Larbre Competition, has announced that the team will not be at Enna-Pergusa for the third round of the Championship. The team, which lost its title sponsor Chéreau when the company went into receivership, has been extremely competitive during the first two races, with Christophe Bouchut setting the fastest lap at Barcelona and leading the race in Magny-Cours, but the team has not yet found a new sponsor.
The team, which will still take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa and the French GT Championship, will continue to look for a sponsor to enable it to return to the FIA GT Championship as quickly as possible. "From the start of the season, the team's aim has been to win," team owner Jack Leconte stated. "We will not take the start in mediocre conditions." Larbre Competition joined the new N-GT class in 2000, winning the title with Bouchut, Goueslard and a Porsche 996 GT3-R. In 2001, with a Viper, Bouchut and Belloc were victorious, both in the Championship and in the 24 Hours of Spa. Last year, Bouchut won the Drivers title, with a crucial second consecutive win at Spa. This season, Bouchut and Belloc have been extremely competitive speed-wise, but minor problems have prevented them from scoring points. source: www.fiagt.com Shame, I like the team. |

Well actually Osella Id say the Force One Viper is the current viper to beat, but yes it is a shame to see Labre lose their sponsor and have to pull out of the championship. Still I bet they find a big sponsor some time soon and will be back in the championship. The main things are though is that the team will be at the Spa 24hrs.
The question is now, are there any new teams ready to take their place in the championship? |

Top Viper team right now in terms of points is the Roos Viper.

Hakkiman I know that the Roos Viper is the best of the vipers right now, but Force One have been unlucky. Personally I woudnt be suprised to see them at the top of the Viper pack at the end of the season, providing they finish the Spa 24hrs of course.

The departure of Larbre is a shame, not least because it puts Bouchut and Belloc out of a drive. And yet...
... and yet we hear that Zakspeed are to contest the Spa 24 Hours; any chance of them getting hold of a newer Viper and doing the whole FIA series? |

What? And have vipers in the championship for another year!?! Id rather not see them there, with the 2004 regs we should hopefully rid ourselves of the Proton GT2 Porsche, and the Vipers, but I dont think that will happen, no doubt we will still have a couple knocking about..

Concerning Larbre, their main sponsor Cherreau, which is a frigorized trucks and trailers manufacturer, has real financial difficulties.
The boos of Chereau may even be pursued for taking money from the company... ... if you want to sponsor a team this year or in 2004 ! |

Gilles Chereau boss didn't yake the money of the company... The boss is dead and there's a problem of succession between the sun (who is a Larbre pilote too) and his sister( who wants th sell the company)
Baycave they will be at LM it's sure! |

We can't imagine LM without the Larbre team. Even with very serious problems. SpiritOf just talks about possible most serious things than Enna withdrawing, but it's nly speculative.
I'll cheer them anyway, and wish them good luck. |

The reason it is a shame that Larbre and Belmondo are out is because they would have won it again. These guys are winners and the Viper loves them. No other team can do with the Vipers as what they have been able to do. Hopefully 2004 will be the yeat that they back. Hopefully it is in a Viper and not a Porsche.

hopefully the Vipers will be gone??! even with their apparent age, the Vipers not only can still run with the big boys, but are also still (okay in my opinion) the most beautiful beasts out there. and until the new snake gets into the mix, i think the current GTS-R needs to be pounding it out on the track. here's to a Larbre win at LeMans!
