Forum Newsletter

Is there one? I have seen several references to a "Forum" Newsletter (including in the Member Preferences) but have never seen an actual newsletter. Was it done away with in favour of the main 10-Tenths newsletter? Is there no purpose for it? Just curious.

I haven't received a forum newsletter for ages - has there been one sent out recently? I definitely have the option checked to receive it, but I haven't received one in quite a while. I haven't had any problems with my email server, although I've just changed to a different email address. I've seen on a different thread that Hotmail addresses are accepted for the forum, so I'm not sure why I haven't had a newsletter recently.

The Discussion Forum Newsletter goes out bi-weekly and the last one was nr.33 on the 29 of April.
Steph, have you changed your e-mail address in your profile?
Otherwise I wouldn't know what could be wrong and you'll have to wait for Craig to answer this one.

I assumed the forum newsletter idea had been dropped when I stopped receiving them a couple of months ago.

I changed it in my profile the other day, but I hadn't received a newsletter into my old address for quite a while before then.

I used to get them regularly but haven't had one for a while.

I don't think anything has been changed in my profile, but I will check.

Hmmm... curiouser and curiouser - checked all the settings that I could find - all seems OK - could there be more to this than meets the eye?

I didn't - I received the last one exactly one month ago, April 17. So the one from April 29 and the one sent out yesterday I haven't received. And I haven't changed any settings nor my email address either

Just for the record, I have not received a newsletter since I joined in late March.

As per my original post, this was just a curiosity (I have never received the newsletter, so I don't know what I'm missing ), so please don't take this as a whinge/whine/complaint, which was never my intent.

I don't know why some people don't receive the Forum Newsletter.
In my opinion the trouble with Hotmail addresses is solved.
Are you sure you opted to receive the Forum Newsletter in your preferences?
Please check again:
Go to 'My Forum'
Go to 'Edit Options'
Choose 'yes' where it says: Receive Forum Newsletter?

I've checked it, and it says "yes" on that question. Furthermore I always receive the Ten-tenths Newsletter and email notifications as well, so my email address is stated correctly. And I don't have a Hotmail address either.

So in this case I don't know why I don't receive the Forum Newsletter anymore?

I can't give a decent explanation as to why some of our members never receive the Forum Newsletter.
When I'm done editing the newsletter, I send it to Craig and he takes care of the distribution.
I will contact Craig via e-mail and try to find out what's going on and how to solve this problem.

Gerard, as the last forum newsletter was the first I'd received in ages, I'm waiting to see if I get the next one. Could you do all the people who aren't getting newsletters a favour and post a quick note here when the newsletter goes out.

I'll seek the advice of Jelsoft - the people who write the software. The fault would seem to lie there as this problem never used to exist and the only thing we changed was the forum software...

I am awaiting some form of response from Jelsoft...

However I did just send the latest issue... so we'll have to wait and see whether that actually works or not...
