Sandown 1984
Just wondering why the Sandown GP circuit is not used anymore. When there was a chance of the ALMS round coming to Sandown, would they have used the GP circuit.
PS.. Would anyone happen to have the 1984 and/or 1988 World Sportscar Races from Sandown. |

Can't help you with 1984 - the Melb Uni Car Club did the timing for that one and won't/can't/refuse to provide any of the data...
1988 however is available at http://www.racetime.com.au/racedata/s8820. The bikes have used the extension a few times ince 1990 but the cars found the inner section too slow and 'damaging'. It will never be used again and is now in 'disrepair' |

Yeah that's right, whenever the Superbikes were on the SATCC program at Sandown, they would use the loop. I don't think it will be missed...heck, it bypasses the best part of the track!
