Silverstone LMS 2007 - how much for a drive ?

Any idea how much a drive in LMP1 would be just for the Silverstone event ?

just curious

Andy.

usually for LMP2 the costs are from 35-50K Euro per race... i think LMP1 might be something a bit more, depending on what you are going to drive... probably the "cheapest" seat on the market for LMP1 is the second Courage

I think it would depend on: 1) your ability, 2) the number of other drivers in the car and 3) the ccar itself. Most of the major teams are already set but it would not surprise me if you could get a third driver position in the 2nd Courage for about Euro 50-60k . You would have to take on board the likelihood that the car would not make it through to the time of your stint though. Unless you have considerable talent, most other realistic drives would be unobtainable.

mmm, Courage wanted 100K euros for a LM drive on the lead car, I think 80K quid for Silverstone is, well.. a bit too much

I'll give you a mars bar wrapper and a couple of old issues of Autosport?

And if you get me a Peugeot, I'll give you a pair of worn trainers, too.

That's a good point for the aspiring 'gentleman' driver to bear in mind. Entry lists are littered with the names of drivers who never got to drive the car they were entered in. I thiunk it likely that most contracts will make it clear that even though you've paid up front, you might not get to drive the car until a certain time, and if its already out by then, your payment is 100% non-returnable.......

How much would that suck!
That must've been how Mika Salo felt when Biela ran out of fuel in the Audi at LM - and he's a pro!

Yep, word perfect from Acheson himself when interviewed by RLM.... But you need to adopt a voice which conjures up a driver close to tears.......

in irish.

I seem to remember the commentator saying something like "he's got all that adrenaline, but nowhere to...put it."

and i think from the same year "Jon Neilsen has changed out of his civvies, which is a relief because he was wearing some pretty lurid shorts"
