There is also the whole aircon issue - while I fundamentally think the complaints from AMR and Peugeot are largely canards, it might be that something start to tilt people back towards the barchetta. |

The problem is that developping a closed car is mcuh more expensive and complicated that an open car (aircon, wipers, fog, doors, etc...) so if there is no incentive there is no point in running a closed car |

I personally can not see it being that much, the open car is outdated now. I would think to be competitive the open Lola would need a pretty heavy rework, especially against the RS Spyder's, Acura's and Zytek's of this world. |

RLR, RML and very similar liveries on nearly identical cars could end up being quite confusing, when trying to keep track of them come race action time. L.P. |

According to www.SPEEDWEEK.ch Team Felbermayr-Proton will defend their LMS-GT2-championship with two Porsche and hope again for Lieb/Lietz as drivers. They also hope to get a second Le Mans entry.

If someones on the ball they'll sign up Alex Zanardi, not only is he media/sponsor friendly, he's a fantastic, thoughtful driver who will suit sportscar racing down to the ground.
Back in the day he also hustled the all dominant Mclaren F1 GTR's with a GT2 Lotus Esprit. |

I would like to think that Paul Drayson's example - i.e. if you can show that your disability has no effect on your driving - would hold true for Alex Zanardi. Obviously there's the engineering challenge to make it work for him, but I challenge anyone to say he's lacking in the talent department.

Seeing as he's been a factory BMW WTCC driver for the last however many years, I don't see any problem.

The difference is of course that there are driver changes in endurance racing. Also designing a car for use for both a driver with and without legs must be an engineering nightmare.

Re the car itself, in these days of fly by wire brakes/transmission/throttle it can't be that out of this world as a concept. |

What do they mean by the double points for races 50% beyond 1000km? Are they planning 1500+km races?
