People in Spain really don’t like motor racing, only F1 (Alonso, you know) thought, every year many people go to Spanish F3 or Spanish GT races because of the promotion. Last year, in LMS Jarama 1000km, organizers (RACE), didn’t promote the race, and we were only 1500-2000 people, and I’ve seen races in Jarama (F. Renault or F3) with 30000 or more. The Jarama’s organizers were very lucky to have a LMS race and they lost a big opportunity.

We’ll see, in Valencia Spanish have four drivers to cheer, and one of them drive for Peugeot and can win the race. If Cheste´s organizers have worked hard and have promote the race, they’ll have crowds of people.

And I hope my fellow countrymen realized they’re lucky to have a LMS race in Spain, a country without any endurance racing culture.

Muy cierto! Jarama last year had very low attendance but it was better than Spa or the Nuerburgring... Then I saw a picture of Spanish GT and the stands were packed. I know Spain is more of a bike culture but hopefully we can revert that ;-)

I also wish that.
Endurance racing (LMS, ALMS, FIA GT...) is in my opinion the best kind of motor racing

I don't think that first part is all true. People in Spain love motor racing, just not necessarily car racing. Moto GP draws absolutely huge numbers of people at Jerez, Catalunya, and Valencia.

But, hopefully this race is promoted well and draws a decent crowd.

I guess Spain is much like Ireland with respect to motorsport ..... when you look at the quality of rally car knocking about in Ireland . There is plenty of money in Ireland for motorsport , but its all in rally .

One thing I do like about rallying , you dont get people trying to interfere and change the corners , cuz the corners are public roads , and the drivers dont complain half as much as some circuit drivers do .

They trust in their co-jo and spend most of their life sideways ..... now that takes some balls !!!

Well, this is the only free entry event on the LMS calendar this year.

(Unless Interlagos is also free)

Yes, it’s unprofessional……but I prefer the unprofessional atmosphere of LMS, FIA GT or ALMS in contrast as that ‘cold’ and sometimes artificial professionalism of nowadays F1 (the best example).
In general, I would like to have a world a bit less professional, please.

And I guess a few or more neighbours from Portugal will come to support Pedro Lamy and other portuguese drivers...

well said- but there still isnt any sense scheduling them on the same day!
I love the walkabout atmosphere, and the down to earth attitude.

Absolutely agree! there're still weekends without endurance races, and a weekend without protos and GTs isn´t a real weekend

The Arena Zytek is quick out of the box!

LMP2 pace looks to be very close to that of LMP1.
