Le Mans 2007. A request
This may be a slightly unethical request but here goes. Is anybody going to marshal at Le Mans next year, going on their own and would be prepared to pass on their 'Invitee de Poste' pass. I'm not wishing to avoid paying to get in but that pass (or at least it used to) gives a certain freedom of movement and the ability to get a bit of trackside viewing.
I won't insult the donor with the offer of money but I'll happily donate to the charity of their choice for their trouble. |

John, I work on Poste '0', but unfortunately my guest passes do not allow Pitwall access, only General Admission.
And, of course, they must be collected at Marshals Sign On, before going into the circuit, usually on Monday for me. |

Thanks Alan. I was certainly not wishing to even try to get on the pit wall. Far too much going on and I wouldn't want to get in the way. The system 'out on the circuit', when I marshalled a few years ago, was that you had a guest pass ('Invitee de Poste') which allowed the guest on to the rear of the post, at the Chef de Poste's discretion. The big advantage, however, was that you could get into the centre of the circuit and, providing you behaved sensibly, nobody bothered you.
It may have all changed since I was there? |
