Baz,
2CV's are exciting. 3 abreast into Redgate, most laps, through craners, that's exciting. or... Something fast that you feel go past! Big throbbing V8's!! Rob. |

What did I say...Ian Neville's win over brother David was less than a quarter of a second after 10 laps of Mighty Mini's...now beat that for exciting finishes all those other formulas out there!!

It was 0.021s to be precise - so quite close! Justin Dawkins beat Gavin Wills by 0.196s in an FF1600 race that was every bit as dramatic!

TVR Tasmin's managed 0.002 as a split at Brands, we weren't upset as a team as they were both "our cars". They had to be split by the transponders as no one watching could tell.
You should have seen the 2nd placed drivers face when we told him (jokingly) that it was a real pity his transponder was much further back in the car than in the other one Archibold PS They were both in the same location...but it just goes to show, put your transponder as far forward as possible... Ok then, lets see what close finishes we have this year then compared to the Mighty's last weekend. I cant imagine it will come from a Radical race, Formula Honda (or whatever its called this week) Global Lights or anything like that...lets see shall we. Ian, I don't know what you mean!....Saw Peter Alexander rushing up the stairs to see race control after the last race Zetec red flag " I'm off to have a big argument!" he shouted...any idea what the outcome was Ian on that last race?

Actually Baz, the Kit Car race at Donington last week was a dead heat (gap of 0.00s).

archibold - The location of the transponder doesn't matter, it is still the 'light beam' that dictates time/position. The transponder just lets the 'light beam' know who is about to cut it.
I would love to know how close the transponder loop is to the light beam, I was out accelerating the car that beat me. Seriously considered refitting my old sprinting 'beam breaker' after that one! |
