If you think Ron's crude, then what must you think of Sir Frankie Boy Williams. Remember Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, both sacked once they won the world championship for him! Who says success pays?
It will be David *I want equal equipment* Coulthard and Nick *the spot* Heidfeld. Kimi will stay at Sauber and be the third factory Mercedes driver alongside Heinz *57 varieties* Frentzen. |

Am I the only one to realize this, but Ferrari allows Sauber to test at Mugello and Fiorano (both Ferrari tracks) since Sauber don't have any testing facility near them in Switzeralnd. If they were to ditch the Ferrari engine for the inferior Mercedes they would have to fly to silverstone or barcelona to test (Hence their budjet would skyrocket). By having Mugello and Fiorano they don't need to spend as much money going places. Also all of you seem to forget that Ferrari and Sauber have an excellent working relationship. Remember back in '97 Ferrari lent Schumacher to Sauber for a day to test their car because Sauber couldn't figure out what was wrong with their car. Finally if Kimi were to go to Ferrari they would probably get Rubens in return, if he went to McLaren they would get nothing in return...

I mentioned this happening months ago on this very forum. I was laughed at, ridiculed, and sent packing with my tail between my legs.
Now, others are jumping on the mac-bandwagon, I'd just like to say, ![]() (I know he hasn't signed for them at the moment, and probably won't). Last edited by mac; 21 Aug 2001 at 06:35. |

I think it's more likely to be less promotional duties or something like that so that he can spend more time with Hugo and his wife. (I don't know why he just doesn't watch the TV coverage of the GP, he'd see enough of them then!). Adam |

Latest rumours on ITV state that McLaren has approached both Fisichella and Trulli!
Given the choice, I'd take the little Roman. I think his race craft is better than Trulli's and he is less tempermental. It could finally be the break he desreves! Given Peter Sauber's statements about keeping Nick and Kimi, its no certainty that they'll stay, but it'll cost Ferrari or McLaren to land either of these guys |

Back to 1997, Sauber not only allowed TGF to test their chassis, but also "cooperated" with ferrari in Jerez, blocking Villeneuve (and not being punished in spite of Mosley's words before the race)....but I don't think all this has some influence on the KR "affair". BTW, I think that for sure Kimi should prefer a winning team like ferrari to a declining one like Mclaren, but he too has yet to prove he's not a Button or a Wurz:next year will be crucial for him. EEro, agree with you on Fisichella & Trulli. |

BUT, I think he is much more temperamental. It is often thought that Jarno is not really Italian because he is so calm (he didn't grow up in Italy". Fisi, on the other hand, is as Italian as pasta. Remember his confrontation with Eddie Irvine in the sandtrap at Barcelona. He is temperamental, aggressive and a little crazy, and that's what makes him a good driver. |
