Because I've only used hire karts and don't have a fitted seat I get bruises on my back which stay for months. Apart from that, nothing. Luckily!

Yes,I've been in a terrible accident last year.We don't know what happent but on the straight the kart snapped away to the right.I couldn't correct the kart anymore because of the speed just before braking, the kart slammed into the tyre barriers and the chassis was destroyed.I've got away with minor scratches and a headache. We think it was a tyre thath came off under braking.

ouch F3000 fan..sounds nasty.

Ive had one or two shunts that were pretty nasty at around 65 mph (which is top speed for my kart) but thankfully no injuries.

both happened on a straight and involved someone eles mistake and i had nowhere to go and slammed into them.
the second one I actually got airborne after hitting a sandtrap sideways and slammed into a tyre barrier while in the air..unfortunately my foot had slipped under the brake pedal with all the jolting around and got squashed between the tyre wall and the brake pedal ...gave mea bit of pain but nothing was broken

just genral karting can make you very sore..bruises are common place especially around the lower back area ..but good padding helps that out.

I have no idea what the asa series is Bud ..but Karts are a great place to start and many drivers start there ..even your beloved Nascar drivers did..I believe Jerry Nadeu may have even been a former karting world champion ..if not he was damm good in them

asa is the american speed association,a am pretty shure,it is a televised series in the US.They are stock cars that get up to about 130 on the straits, they are fuel injected, about 500 hp,it is a good series for stock car drivers to start in.

Jerry Nadeau may well have been a 'world champion' in the American sense, but he wasn't a proper World Karting Champion.

I am not sure what he is doing now but fomer NASCAR driver Lake Speed was a proper World Karting Cchampion.

He was one of a group of Americans who achieved World Champion status in the seventies but were largely ignored at home. Mario Andretii F1 Champ and Kenny Roberts (Snr) in 500 cc Grand Prix Bikes.

From memory I think Lake Speed had an easy time of it. Only had people like a Brazillian called Senna to beat!
