Le Mans 2003
Hi All,
Well, the cat's now out of the bag ........... The ACO have fully authorised me to be a member (non-active, of course)of post 106 at this year's Le Mans 24 Hour race, and we're leaving for France next Sunday. But as we're there for 9 days, I'm looking to visit as many different posts as possible. Therefore can you let me know what posts those of you who are going are allocated to, and where it is! I have a very detailed OS style maps of the area, so don't be surprised if me and the wheelchair suddenly appear (or a logo'd Subaru! (Jackie's car). To those doing the Snetterton 24 Hours, I wish you also the best of luck. Cheers all Steve |

Messrs Hicks, Moorman, Weedon and I arrive on the Monday towing a large caravan (allegedly). Thought we would get there first to grab the prime spot (same principle as pool side lounger, towel and Germans). So, see you there Steve, on, err, Post 106. Well, at least you will not need the map to find us (hopefully). Have a safe journey.

It will be good to see you and Jackie at le Mans Steve. At Post 61 there should be John Williams, theRaceGypsy (aka Bob Bidmead), Sarah & me. If you can find your way through the woods then you will be welcome...

Alan - poste 0 sounds like the old ACO building just at the end of the pit lane exit. On Friday walkabout a couple of years ago it looked like you might doss down in there?
Presume you've looked at the map at the marshalspost - http://www.marshalspost.com/circuit/53.html Most (if not all) marshals' posts seem to have a campsite associated with them (on the long circuit), not so sure about those on the Bugatti circuit. Again, a couple of years ago turbo-ww and I tried parking a car in an area close to the village that said Commissaires' parking. added befor 15mins - pretty sure there were a couple of caravans/camper vans in there maybe ww will remember better A French gent was none too pleased with us - seems it was only for his/nearby postes. Another of 106's inmates Last edited by Bodysnatcher; 2 Jun 2003 at 12:59. |

not one of the bleached pumpkins - more of a 10/10ths institution (if she'll pardon me for saying) she wants to do interviews and I'm sure you could manage a few words..
See the thread in the GT forum ...meeting there... http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=38677 |

Well Steve, the post to stay away from is Post 70. The post next to the mini-hump before Mulsarne Corner on the inside. Don't you dare go there! There's err umm Americans! This year, a Canadian has sneeked in! They join Me, Peter Goodbody and various other Brits, including Michel Pommies. So You've been warned! Stay away, in fact don't even go to France, just in case!
Just joking, pop in any time. Have you any plans for Friday afternoon and evening? We usually go to Le Mans for the parade of pilotes. Well worth it. We certainly have enough transport for a few extras, from a 1948 MG to an expected Aston Martin Vantage! (He was bringing his Ferrari 360 but he had an argument with a motorcycle last week. Don't you hate people like that!) |

Stoowert, we'd be delighted to take you up on your kind offer for the Friday, especially as we don't know our way around town at this moment in time.
Not long now to the midnight crossing on Sunday .............! |
