Help with Chinon Tripod

I've been given a Chinon 1000 tripod, seems very good except the part that scews to the bottom of the camera is missing. Does anyone know where I can get this from?

Or could it be the case that I was given it as you can't get this anymore? I have no idea how old or new it is, any help would be much appreciated.

Ta.

Do you mean the quick release plate? I had a similar problem with an old Vanguard tripod I've recently acquired. Took me a bit of searching but evenutally found a US website ith one in stock.

Are there any marking or letters near where the plate sits? QS-xx or QR-xx for example.

Yep, that's it, the quick release plate. I've had a look at the tripod and there's no numbering that I can see. I'll take a pic of it an upload it if that helps.

Try searching through www.tripodquickrelease.com. Can't see anything for Chinon but seems to be quite a few generic styles used by different brands.
