Croft 22nd March
Well there is a little over three weeks until the first round of the open series at croft, are we gonna get any banter going on who's coming out with what or who's not coming out for whatever reason, any signs of any new cars or new drivers even.
i know John Mooney is out in revivals in the tyneside roofing astra again, glenn guthrie in his golf, john wood in mr2, quite a few of the autocross lads are also coming out for the first round in revivals, michael henderson ( corsa ), leigh english ( tigra ), paul gee ( nova ), rob smith ( pug 205 ), dave elliot ( sierra 4x4 ), garry coxon ( corsa ). Stu jackson is back out in his saxo in stock hatch and his brother simon is making his debut in revivals in a corsa. will post anymore i hear of. |

wish i was joining everyone in the revivals but sadly the car will have to stay in the garage due to lack of funds spent to much on the rally car

I should be out in the new BMW RWD Class, now looking likely to be in a fairly successful BMW hire car rather than my own, but looking forward to it.

Will i be able to compete even tho i havnt entered the championship?
65 quid extra just to do one round??? There is no listing or mention of a rallycar class the revivals will be your best bet. |

Thanks - yes, I couldn't see anything on the website either.
Btw if you run a rallycar in the revivals class do you need to fit high level brake lights? |

If it's the same as the supermodifed regs for the winter series (what are the chances? ) then you'll need a working fog light but not the high level lights. Worth checking with the organisers though just to make sure.

Looking forward to seeing Rewsy in the BMW class, he will be joined by John Clayton, Jonny Bean and 16 yr old Conor Flynn.
The RWD Machines will hopefully be fun. I have a feeling I will make a couple of guest drives this year too, Blyton being the first for me. The BMWs will not be doing the Nutts Corner rounds, as we want to attrct the budget conscious into this series. Pat |

Very much looking forward to this, car not sorted so I actually have hired Andy Davison's 2008 Championship winning BMW Rally car for the event, so I know the car will be up there with the best, just the driver having to play catch up.
Do we know when the final entry list will be released, I know entires closed 8th March so appreciate probably a few more days yet. |

Hiya Big Ted, the Rallycross and Rally regs were unified, a good while ago.
As most of the competitors already had rally cars, it was a lot easier to make the rally car spec, the one to go with. In fact the unified regs will be on the Open website, as they should be all approved now.[If not check on my site] Reckon that when some regulars see them, then it will make them quite popular. Are you coming to Croft?? Sounds like quite a big entry all in. See you all there,Pat Look out for the Challenge banners, come and say hello, and have a look at how budget conscious the cars are!!!! If you have a look on the Croft Circuit website they suggest a few places to stay near to the track. Here's the link : http://www.croftcircuit.co.uk/wheretostay.php Regards - Toonlad |
