I fail to see why this is a surprise.
Unless I have missed something while reading between the lines, Mr Skaife shall have a prominent role in the development and execution of the VESA "Car of Tomorrow" strategy.... ... which was something Mr Little, and those before him, were expected to deliver. There is a huge difference between assuring technical compliance, and building for the future. Maybe VESA has finally realised this? |

IIRC, it was supposed to be implemented as a package with the new GM engine. Once you used it, you couldn't go back. When Holden had difficulties with the new engine, VESA allowed Holden teams another 12 months to implement the new engine, which allowed the use of the new suspension with the old engine. Often refferred to as the 'hybrid' Commodore, which helped Murphy set that lap in at Bathurst. Good luck to Skaife, but the accusations of Holden bias will come thick and fast now everytime a contenciuos issue lands in Holdens favour. Adding fuel to that fire is Perkins alledged role in the demise of Little, the ongoing splitter debacle led by a former team owner classed unfit to hold a licence who now owns a number. |

Well, with all the claim of bias in here, how many teams dont have a TWPG tie that are Red? Kellys, Tasman and Morris.
If it's conceivable that he will have a bias, is it not conceivable he may also have a TWPG hate? I think, despite the Billy Bagtime's of the world's opinion, that he is smarter than torisk his reputation and extra income to be bias. |

It was my understanding that Skaife had his ties cut with Holden?
I think Skaife is probably a good person to have involved with the development of the future of the sport. |

The say Skaife was "Elected". So where there any other candidates and if so who were they? Or was this just like an election the Politburo would hold in the old USSR

regardless of any history, who he has driven for, IF he drives a car at PI and Bathurst, this will go against the notion that he is independant, regardless of what team and/or manufacturer he was to suit up for...
