Could replace Villenueve at Peugeot, or take up a spot with Audi if the old guard are released.

At 33 he's in his prme for Le Mans.

Alex Wurz would be a great addition to any team's driver line-up. Since he is no longer doing F1, he would make a great addition for either a LMS or ALMS team for the whole season as well as Le Mans! Is he considering this?

rcarr has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I fully support Alex coming back to sportscar racing, after all he is a Le Mans winner and overall his is a good racing driver.

Mercedes got something up there sleeve? Well a very wild guess here. Wurz has been with mercedes for quite a while... But this is a wild speculation
Good to see Wurz come back

Two manufacturers? I'll say the two most likely:

Honda.
Toyota.

Avoiding the innuendo, I'm not so sure he would go to Peugeot; it seems a very french kind of team, and stereotypes suggest that an Austrian would not fit in. Its a kind of "flair against teutonism" kind of thing. If that makes sense. I just can't see it, personally.

It'd be great to see Wurz back in the top sportscars again.
I remember the great fight I've seen him in a Merc CLK-GTR at the FIA-GT Spa-francorchamps 1000km in '97,when he had a fierce battle with Peter Kox in his Schnitzer/Bigazzi McF1 LT.
There was rain(Spa) and on a drying track to two of them were in a class of their own...

I think that he still could do a one-off at Le Mans for an LMP1 team.

I reckon that when Acura move up to LMP1 he'll join them for LM and possibly Sebring/PLM if possible. If Acura were to do the LMS he could easily do that alongside testing for Honda F1.

Gené will continue in 2008. He was confirmed for endurance project by Peugeot España in December. Maybe he won´t be at Sebring Winter test because of his Ferrari test-driver duties.

An article on F1-Action website states that it's sure Wurz will drive at Le Mans despite his Honda F1 contract...

"Now I'm not thinking of just a sporadic effort in the 24 Hours, but I'm also interested in a wider and longer-term programme in the Le Mans Series.

"I've just got back to this series and I've already found the same enthusiasm I had when I raced at Le Mans for the first time, in 1996 with Team Joest.

"It was an exceptional race and for me it remains the best race of my sporting career, the one I'm attached to the most. I think it will be really tough this year against Team Joest, but now, as a Peugeot driver, I hope to make their life just as hard."

Wurz said going back to Le Mans was not a step backwards from Grand Prix racing, and he admitted he will not miss competing in F1.

"Not at all, because since I was little, what I was most fascinated about was following endurance racing through the on-board cameras fitted in the closed-roof Porsches," he added.

"I grew up thinking more about sportscar prototypes than F1 cars. Every time I get inside one it's like re-living the dream I had when I was a kid. No, I really don't think I will miss F1 at all."
