Brands Entry List

Well the entry list is up now on http://www.rallycrossuk.com/ 9 supercars and 16 modifieds so far.

Looks like it'll be a great meeting (which unfortunately I can't make ).

So who's going to win?

Supercar:
Whilst I'd love to see Doran send the RS200 into retirement with a victory I can't see it happening. Carnegie for the win but I'd expect McCluskey to be somewhere near the front too - he was flying at Brands last year.

SuperModified:
Bellerby for the win but it should be a great battle all day in the class - there's some really good car/driver combos out there.

Modified:
The Astras power advantage will push Gary Dixon to the win (sorry Bucko!)

Stock Hatch:
Mo Horsley or Julian Godfrey on the entrylist yet so I'll go for Rodney Green or Mr Thorndyke - both have been quick this season.

Minicross:
John Binks has been the class of the field this year and I think he'll take the win at Brands to end a great season.

Junior Minicross:
The juniors will take a while to get down the pit straight Jordan for the win.

----

So what do you reckon? How wrong will I be this time?

Your point about the straight Bert is the key to this one I think. Who ever gets down the shoot quickest is in with a fair chance in this one. With that in mind!!

Supercars:
Dermot said the restricted engine will be back in the car for this weekend. If thats the case then Doran should have the clear advantage. The other interesting thing will be Nesbitt. By Dorans owen addmission he struggles with left hand drive Nesbitt should have no such problem.

Modified:
The lotus was really good on the staight in Kirkistown and Dresser proved he was on the pace in Mondello bar a rush of blood to the head he should have Won.

Stock Hatch:
Godfrey will probably turn up and I think the track should suit the car.

I think your Bang on with the Mini's

The straight poses a bit of a problem doesn't it? If the car is set up to take advantage of the straight you're in danger of getting swamped off the grid, if it's geared for starts then you'll get blown away down the straight. Should be interesting. Dressers car is normally very good off the line - if that's got the straightline speed too then he good be in with a shout.

Will the RS200 hold together? It's never been overly reliable but this season it's let him down at every event - it's a great car but only in short bursts!

Great to see a big entry for brands. Best entry in the BTRDA this year.

I hope to have a good run in the stockhatch this time, recently had the car setup on the rollers (never been fully setup before) and managed to squeeze a few extra horses out of the old girl.

Just need a bit of relightability now.

Look out for the other half of hortonracing, richard horton. Only raced once this season at blyton, but was very quick. He's fired up for this one!

It would Brilliant to see it get a proper send off wouldn't it. Has provided me with many good memories over the years. He will just have to keep the fingers crossed as he give the Old girl ludicrous speed one last time before closing time!!!

How will the 6R4 cope with the long straight? I seem to remember Gibson suffered a bit down there last year.

I'd agree about Helmuts car - that's another one for the fast but fragile file. Good to see him back on the scene though.

I guess Evens has used the Irish rounds as shakedown and will keep the car out of the firing line until the GP.

I see that Mike Manning his now on the list of entries. He was quick last year but reliability could be the problem here.

Mike was very quick in the 3 rounds that he competed in this year in the irish championship (untill the engine started to let go).

If the engine gremlins dont come back te reek havok at brands he has a very good chance of being in the top 3

Totally agree - Manning was superb at Lydden as well, he was really flying until something broke. It's a shame really because he was easily the quickest driver there on the day and deserved to get more out of the meeting.

Dermot with the diff on the british rounds, Michael with the Kamshaft, Michael Morris with the gearbox at the last event, supercar just seems to be a theme of mechanical gremlins lately.

Any sign of mr. gollop ?
