Here is from the official press release:

P1 Groupe Blurs the Lines of Fantasy and Reality

With Custom Livery Design Competition

P1 Groupe has teamed up with Matt Connolly Motorsports to bring fans even closer to the action of the Rolex Sportscar Series, all from the comfort of their living rooms. Using the wildly popular video game Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360 Game Console, P1 Groupe invited fans to design their own custom livery for the Pontiac GTO.R being run by Matt Connolly Motorsports in the Rolex GT Class. The fans jumped on the idea with wild abandon and the results were quite spectacular.

Now Rolex Series fans everywhere have their chance to vote on the livery that will make it onto the car for the Sunchaser 1000, which will be the final round in the 2007 Rolex Series schedule on September 12-15 at Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fans should log onto www.P1Groupe.com to cast their vote for their favorite livery. Vote now, as the polls will close on August 29, 2007! Fans can go to the P1 Groupe website mentioned above, as well as the Matt Connolly Motorsports website (www.mcmracingteam.com) to view pictures of the custom liveries before casting their votes. Team Owner Matt Connolly is very excited about the entire project: “I think it really just shows how much creativity is truly out there.” says Connolly. “The best thing is that someone just sitting at home somewhere is going to be able to be apart of something big… They are going to get to make an impact on the sport, and after seeing some of the entries, I feel we are going to have the sharpest looking car on the grid!”

P1 Groupe and Matt Connolly Motorsports will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Makes & Models Magazine, so be sure to check it out! Makes & Models can be found on newsstands everywhere, and can also be found online at www.makesandmodels.com. What may be the best news for fans is that this is just the tip of the iceberg, as P1 Groupe will be announcing an even bigger design contest for the 2008 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. Keep an eye on P1 Groupe’s website for more details.
