Did Matthew White today accused the Kmart team of incest?
Would Murph want to go back to team red? |

Would Murph want to go back to team red? (Crash)
I wouldn't have thought so either but in funny way it kinda makes sence with the new ownership agreements. Last edited by Archer; 8 Jun 2003 at 07:50. |

No way, and he'd get hosed by Skaife anyway. He's quick but volatile.

I'm not a Murphy fan but I don't think Skaife would hose him.He wont go back to HRT with Skaife & Grech there.

Cam McConville is still contracted to LRT for 2004.
Whether he is genuinely happy there is open to question... being the single focus of the team, however well they are going has to be looked on more favourably than being a replacable driver in a family-owned team |

Just on Murph I sent the following to murph.co.nz:
Hello, with the recent news that the Kelly's have bought Kmart racing I was wondering if Greg will continue to drive for Kmart as it is today and for how long this will be possible. Thank you for your help and good luck to Greg in W.A this weekend Cheers Matt and got the following response: Yes, he will continue to drive for them, but the team will take some big steps forward under the new ownership and I'd be surprised if Greg doesn't sign for a log-term with them. Thank you for writing. Cheers from Greg Murphy Racing MattV |

I think the Teams will be the same as this year. If anything i would see Murphy being the only one to leave the fold but where he would go would be another thing. I think his only options are Perkins or Team Kiwi but with a reduction in Franchises for next year the Team Kiwi thing is not looking that strong. K-Mart/Castrol Perkins cars may not be all that far fetched.

I guess there is a slight possibility Lansvale could get Holden help and run Murphy and McConville. This would require Mark Noske to possibly drive for an expanded 4 car Stone Bros. operation in 2004 which i guess is possible.

If LRT arent helpful in voting for the new SHRT arrangement, the piddly contribution made to them from Holden will stop! not expand!
Mr Forbes needs somewhere to base Roddler, look to this team to provide some of the infrastructure in 2004 |

Franchises could be a problem for Forbes though. Maybe he will hook up with Lansvale then. Toll racing is also rumoured to be looking to expand as well.
As i said with the possibility of only 32 seats next year somebody is going to miss out. |

Yeah it seems that like going to a State of Origin match in Qld, in that whoever gets in first get the best seats and if you're two late, it may be sold out

Im almost cirtain that the symbol lineup will change, not so much from inside intel but just a gut feeling with all the ownership woes, I really do see Murph leaving the fold and the Kelly brothers hooking up to make the family team complete, then we see a number two seat at HRT open.
Also other 2004 rumors are out already: SBR wants to have three cars to run Winterbottom in the main game, CPR also wants to run a third but with no word on a driver yet, Longhurst maybe? Another gut feeling as I see 00 folding completly and seeking greener pastures elsewhere (as they should). And what of Mark Noske next year? Should we ask the man himself? As ever in this category, where would the franchises come from???
And who would take the 'Rubens Barichello Memorial Seat' as partner to Mark Skaife?? One candidate would be Jason Bargwanna, and I say that in the nicest possible way, him having been the definitive #2 at GRM for the last 4 seasons.... but old Mark will likely want someone cheap and cheerful, perhaps one of the HYL graduates?? |

So GTR where is the educated money in this line up next season. I assume that Dale Brede would be the HYL driver to step up if thats the option.

If that were something to happen seriously, there is no reason an HYL driver couldnt get the step up, I mean it happened to Todd, Rick, Steve Ellery, Bargs, Mark Noske...

I'm wondering how much fact is in the rumour that in 2004 there will be 8 Holden and 8 Ford 2 car teams in the open series. If it is so, how will this be achieved under the current franchise agreement.

That scenario has long been TC's dream for the category, similar to teh BTCC model of years past
The problem is that it wont happen unless teams get on and consolidate. How do you accomodate FPR with 3 cars now and looking for 4 in 2005, or 3 or 4 cars for SBR in 2004, or single entries from Tratt, ROmano, Morris, Ellery and the like.... they gont live near each other geographically, or share similar marques if they do Its all possible but would take a shedload of AVESCO (read: team ) dollars to make it work |

I can see that happening, taking the bread and butter out of the mouths of Shaife's new plaything and paying off a bunch of nohopers and also rans.
Good strategy that one GTRMagic.... |

I thought the franchise (licence) agreement was up for review for 2004 and they were going to start a fresh with 32 single entries (16 ford 16 holden) up for grabs. Meaning if you wanted a two car team you would simply buy two entries, conditions may include max three cars per team or the like...
But thats just what ive heard... (Im probably mistaken) |
