The chamfered floor lets the air out from under the car when it's yawing and has a few degrees of roll. This issue has been discussed at length in this thread: Discussion - is there a design issue with LMP

didnt the Group C cars have chamfered/shaped floors before the 3.5 litre car's came along?
any news on if we will see LNT back next year in the LMS, there was rumours circulating of a Zytek engined Ginetta G50 in GT2 but havent heard anything since.

LAA in FIA GT would be nice but yes it would be detrimental for the LMS- next year's GT1 field may be like it is in the ALMS this year.

Audi has just confirmed a two wheel drive racingversion of Audi R8!

It will be called R16 and confirm to GT3 regs. Biela will be the testdriver of the project R16, and performed rollout mid August.

The codename confirms the existance of R15, the new Le Mans racer instead of R10

A couple of BMW dieselpowered Lola´s would be exciting, me thinks. Great to see BMW back in prototypes, I have still wet dreams about the white BMW V12 LMR

The article sounds to me like they'd be racing in the LMS, not the ALMS.

It's a diesel so I assume it has nothing to do with the Sodemo "BMW" LMP2 engine.

The BMW team; is it Italian? Just seeing as all the info seems to be coming from that corner of the world right now?

Just read in another thread the ACO will meat with all manufacturer's, including Acura, at Silverstone and have scheduled a press conference to detail the future direction of the sport.

With Acura giving the greenlight to the P1, can we be pretty sure any chance of a separate EVO class has been knocked on the head, rather we'll see current cars worked on.

Guess we will find out from Silverstone. But why would Acura's move to P-1 preclude the demise of the "P-1E" style of cars? Do you have some secret insight into what they plan to build, you've seen the CFD model?

Acura had a design ready when the EVO regs were raised, the greenlight was reportedly delayed until they knew the car had a reasonable shelf life, same goes for Audi's R15.

Maybe the manufacturer's have had EVO regs for the past six months, or P1 and P1 EVO have now morphed?

Since the plans in general have been little delayed and best guess is current LMP designs would be eligible to 2011 (that's 3 years of life for the ARX-02) so I don't think Acura's P1 announcement has much to do with the EVO regs. But some conclusions could be drawn regarding petrol vs. diesel balance...

So, Quifel ASM with either a Zytek or upgrade to B08/80 in '09'. I suppose a lot will hinge on the performance of the RML upgrade in their decision making. Although one would think that if all things are equal the Lola would win out as it is an upgrade and would utilize 75% of the old chassis and fairly familiar to the team in its running/maintenance.

Seat have pulled out of the BTCC, so I'd like to see Turner in the LMS, i.e Charouz.
