Regarding MB's sponsors it was great to see Softcat name on the cars as a company I work for is their distributor (however, a sponsor of even bigger teams)
Great announcement with TPC, I don't think we need that many brands especially as they're not connected with manufacturers in almost no ways. There's still a variety of cars which is good and I'm glad that TPC will be equipped with brand new cars next year. Also, it's great to have another team committed to the 2021 season. It's not that obvious in the current, crazy world. |

Its going to be interesting next year as just about all the older cars will have been replaced. Aside from the 1 series and FK2 Civics (if AMD/MB keep them), then the oldest cars on the grid will be PMR's 2017 Astras. That is quite an impressive feat for a mainly privateer championship!!

Hard are building 3 Leons - I would take that as being all 3 CCs being replaced.

So much for Alan Gow limiting teams to two cars then.

After the events of recent months, it would be difficult for Gow to take any TBL away from a team currently on the grid.
In 2018 he said: 'Obviously I'm not going to just take a team's TBL from them, so have been hoping it will be achieved through natural attrition.' And then a few months ago: 'Some teams are hurting. And I would expect by the time we go racing in August, we will see three or four cars maybe drop off. And you know, considering what they're going through at the moment, I think that's a really good result for the BTCC. But I think that just shows the level of commitment from the teams. There will be one or two or three or four or five cars, that will probably end up having budgetary problems and have to pull out but you know, if we can get the season finished by doing our nine rounds out of the 10 that we originally had in the schedule, and lose just four or five cars in the year as a result of it. I think we've done really well.' If you consider those comments, and look at who is on the grid going into the final round, it gets difficult to take any TBL away. I guess you could make an argument for PMR and WSR, can you imagine the uproar if WSR had a TBL taken away? and the attrition may happen prior to 2021 anyway. |

I don't see any reason to limit the cars in a team to two anyway. Obviously was hoping it would happen over time, but it wasn't to be and with the competitiveness of some teams it was going to be hard anyway
I think it's sensible to leave is as it is. There's no guarantees who's going to be on the grid next season, so hopefully we'll have enough to keep the series going strong. There will be plenty who should commit to the series next season. I can see us having more than enough cars next season. Although no doubt there are plenty of teams with an uncertain future. The series has done well to steer it's ship through troubled waters and we've ended up having a great season. It's a shame some had to pull out, but hopefully we can learn lessons from that Of course we could do with maybe a couple more on the grid in this final race, but overall we've got a strong enough grid and we can look forward to a hopefully another great year next season. It's been tough for PMR, but they've managed to compete this season, even without works backing like they should have done or their original drivers. And massive shame we didn't see Jordan out in the WSR, but it's not the end of the world. Here's to a great 2021 |

So we'll be saying goodbye to the VW CC's, the Merc A class, the Audi S3's and the FK2's the grid will look quite different next year for sure.

I think Gow's 'wish' to reduce team size was mainly to stop the likes of BMR & HARD from obtaining more licenses to potentially end up being 6 car+ outfits. When teams get to that size, they have too much power. 3-4 car teams are fine IMO.

Personally I think teams should be limited to 3 cars max.

I wonder if there are some very rude words emanating from some 3d modellers working on the BTCC videogame t this moment...

The BMW THREE Series. The numbers in the name. So long as a budget doesn't evaporate...
Who says no FK2's, anything firm? The spare cars at Motorbase may just be that - Big Dave having spares as a contingency OR because they've worked out an improvement that is more effective to build from scratch than re-work what they have ala the Infinitis. |

Indeed there's been a third prepped (brackets out, cage in, painted etc) PMR Astra shell sat at the back of the workshop for years. Since that huge Croft qually accident left teams scrambling to get a car ready, they've realised its probably not that smartest idea to do weeks worth of scratch fabrication in just a handful of days between events. Prepped spare shell ready for installation and final assembly is much cheaper than complete turnkey spare cars. Plus any updates leaned along the way can go in at that point instead of major renovation like Hard do every 12months. |

Nah, I am sure they are gonna run three Beemers like they were supposed to this season. And I would love to see Mat Jackson in one, who knows? Would be good to see alongside Oliphant and hopefully Turkington, depending on what he decides to do
