I've always thought the current chassis' seemed a little bulky, especially for street circuits; but I like their strength. The fact that you can have a little contact and still keep going is beneficial. Having said that a smaller, lighter chassis I would like, but not narrower. I'm afraid that that might sacrifice strength however, so I would elect to stay with the current chassis. Besides they look so damn good!
One thing I am sure of however is no IRL chassis, just too ugly for my liking. |

I dunno. Wish I could have everything "my way". But I can't. I'd prefer to see status quo, as they look so elegant, but you'd be blind if you couldn't foresee CART's future is filled with street venues. And selling the product relies on providing good racing. Perhaps, (and I hate to say this), a narrower chassis would be better suited to the confines. It would certainly allow for more passing. At the same time, I'd like to see the wheelbase remain the same, but then the cars might look stupid.

I said smaller, lighter. I'm not sure this is doable because of the structure needed to sustain crashes on ovals and less safe than F1 standard tracks. Smaller lighter means less power needed and/or more speed, more agility => more passes. With the lighter cars they could ditch the wings and increase the tires slightly.
 As for the "looks," the new rad ducts on the Lolas make the cars look like butt. |

Smaller, narrower, lighter? Why not just get us a bunch of those horrid looking F1 cars!
 The cars are perfect as they are and I see absolutely no reason to change. IRL cars look terrible as well. |

Anyone seen the new G-Force IRL car? Why would anyone want to impersonate something as horrendous looking as that.
Champcars should stick with the current big brutish vehicles, that's what its all about. |

Hey guys, it's conceivable that a different standard wouldn't look like F1 or IRL.
Everyone resists change, but I think improvements can be made to improve racing.

You are right in that sense, but 'smaller, lighter, narrow' points straight to Formula 1, and that is the last thing we need, high powered narrow little things that can't pass each other.

F1's problem isn't being smaller and lighter. I'm not even trying to say that it has to be this way, I'm just saying different is okay too.

Actually, the lighter and narrower parts are a big problem in F1... Check out my many rants on the F1 forum if you don't know why.

Fvck the wings off completely and go with a F1 car look from 1967. 4 wheel drift, driver input, passing under brakes, bliss. If we can't do that then go some more downforce and keep them as they are.

I vote for smaller,narrower and stronger but that might increase costs.Something has to give and it is either reliability or strength.
