I think the biggest influence is going to be how Scott (Moran) and Paul (Ranson) drive.

For instance, Can't see Scotty wanting to push the car while Roger's got an even shot at No2. Scotty's already got a number for next year, It may even be better for him next year for him to have a lower number. However, with the title sewn up for Grover, I can see Paul wanting to push Scotty or even Simon Durling at Gurston, Prescott and Doune. I imagine Paul & Scott will both be driving Miss Daisy at Shelsley, but after that it's game on.

I strongly suspect that as long as scary, crashy Willem stays home for the remaining rounds, 2 will be his. But I think Deano will edge Roger Moran and pick up 3rd. The Moose looks much more at home in the new Gould than Roger does in his.

Moose No 2

I can see Moose taking 2nd (although not sure how he will cope without his new mechanic RALFY lol). Its going to be a close fight with Morans consistency and Willems outright speed.

I think wee man would be happy with 10th place MCB.
He's having a more than troublesome year.
Hopefully it'll be Shelsley " watch this space "

I read somewhere there was a different gearbox in the Predator for Craigantlet, can you shed any light on that Jon?

Sorry Paul, On reflection, that was a bit harsh.

Was I that far out though? If I were lucky enough to be in your shoes, I'd be happy just to take a few points home from that meeting, I definitely wouldn't want to be remembered for being the bloke who bent the record holding car at the Centenary Meeting?

AIUI Graeme had a gear lever fitted for Craigantlet in place of the air powered paddle shift equipment.

I'd be happy to take a bucket load home. If I want to improve my championship position I need a bucket load. I'm fully expecting Martin to break the record in qualifying and then deploy team tactics in the runoffs....

IMO appearance on Sunday is an optional extra. We have to pay a significant entry fee, I feel no obligation to run at all. Albeit there is the possibility of useful testing, if the weather holds.

Air shifter?

It didn't sound like air, more like big bits of gearbox metal shifted and then met for a parting..........

If they don't need to see a private dentist for those teeth then I will be surprised. It had already lost a third tooth I believe. 1st, 2nd, woof, woof, 4th. Probably had a Scotish sword prodded into it's heart at the last minute to make it work, it still scored points!

Time for bed, but Obseving the last few posts with interest!

I have a hunch Moose may sneak second. He's been quick everywhere that's still to run, and I get the feeling he's getting dialled onto the car. Willem's been having a few moments costing him points and is not as far ahead as he ought to be. If he can get his consistent head on, then maybe. Roger's car just doesn't look quite so comfortable when last seen. I'm sure there's a lot more in it, but they don't quite seem to be getting on top of it.

I'd guess GWj would be fitting a manual shift just to get some reliability for a) a chance to set the car up properly and b) not waste any points. He might not get a high number, but I imagine he'd concentrate on trying to get one.

5th is looking a good battle looming too. Eddie Walder said 'consistency counts for a lot' at the start of the season, and I'd agree with that. Both Scott and Simon have been slightly erratic in terms of points over the season, but Scott seems to have the upper hand at the moment. Paul is only just behind but good scores have been eluding him recently ("Don't bend it..."?) but he has been driving well at the rounds I've seen and it wouldn't take much to grab a hatful and leapfrog both.

Rob and Chris are having an interesting run. Rob either scores lots or none, with a couple of non-qualies, while Chris nearly always turns up in the lower placings.

Top 10, then:

1) Groves
2) Dean
3) Toet
4) Roger Moran
5) Ransom
6) Scott Moran
7) Durling
8) Merrick
9) Turnbull
10) Haimes

Definately..

As a little aside to the main thread......(sorry mods)...

Willem was a lucky boy yesterday when at about 130mph just after post 6 at Loton the lower suspension on the o/s/r broke on his Pilbeam and he simply turned left and then did a series of flat spins...
When the paramedic checked him over and took his pulse it was "barely elevated" .....

Calm under pressure or what??

Should be fun watching Willem and Deano slug it out

Will

Only saw the second runoff, and can only remember the 1st few

Roger Moran - 46.65
Scott Moran - 46.67
Simon durling - 47.20 ?
Trevor Willis - - 47.5 ?

I did see that they had put cones on loggerheads to stop you cutting the corner down to triangle, which lead to a few amusing lines.

Scott in the second runoff came round that fast it looked like he had to brake early for triangle

Interesting description, Steve. Willem's report described it as 'a not entirely harmless spin'. You're description sounds more like a typical post 6 moment. Been a few years since we had that series of rear suspension failures. I'm pleased it's been found before Shelsley... I'm more pleased that he's unharmed, though.

And welcome to the forum, Kev.
