Touring Car Masters 2023

What is going on with TCM this year, the car count for the last two round's is about 12 or 15.

Drivers saving their car's for selected rounds?

Poster Child for when a category ignores cost control measures and prices most competitors out of the class.
There were 7 cars on the grid first race at Symmons. At Newcastle they found a few invitational cars happy to run around 3-4 seconds a lap off the pace.Got the grid up to 12.
There was only a very small field at Bathurst at the end of last year.Barely double figures.
Hard to see a way back with anything that resembles the current Regs.

Go back to Group N.
Good numbers at PI as I expect at a great race circuit.

A real shame for this category, if they can’t raise the grid count.

They, some may say JB, started an arms race years ago, the problem with that is eventually you run out of people who can afford to keep up.

This 100%.
The now parked Steve Johnson Falcon cost over half a million dollars to build. If that is the price of front running admission it is way too much.

There are a number of more highly speccced cars that ran in the series at different times, and the tuning capabilities alongside driver experience and skill, saw their gear rendered ineffective fairly easily.

Nothing like having a Ford Escort running around in the TCM series.
