One-Make Series Entries/Rumours that never happened

The Renault Sport Racing-backed Clio Cup UK intended for 2020, which would have featured the fifth-generation Clio and raceD on the British GT support bill, postponed until 2021 by the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately not revived at all.

Rover 200 Cup for 1997 to replace the Tomcats. One prototype built by Roversport but never ran. Project canned.

Some that spring to mind:

Chevrolet Cruze Cup in 2010;
Formula Triple S (a single-seater series for the Speads RM08 in 2008; and
the 750MC mooted one make series for the BMW Z3 and VW Golf Turbo Diesel in approximately 2012.

SSangyong Rexton, happened in one glorious year.

Ariel Atom Cup UK 2016.

Series Elite (Grahame Glew with Jaguar Project 8s), lasted one weekend.

Nigel Mansell was due to contest a TVR Tuscan race at Donnington Park in 1993, one that was a support race at the TOCA Shoot-Out, his crash in said event put paid to that.

Rumour had it that the team was worried about the source of the curious whining noise emanating from the TVR that weekend . Strangely , it never returned.

Does anyone remember the Euroc Cup (or Series)

It was for an open top prototype a lot like the Panoz which was meant to run in the late 90s/00s, only 2 prototypes were made and it never ran. I know one of the cars came up for sale a year or 2 back but struggling to find any info on the net

That rings a bell. Big bonnet up front, driver sat right at the back. as you said, similar to a Panoz or dragster. One of the cars was in yellow Hasseroder livery? Have a vague recollection that the second car may have been light blue.

Definitely one of the cars was in Hasseroder livery. I seem to recall Willi Weber was involved behind the scenes and Ralf Schumacher testing the red/yellow car as a promotional activity.

Indeed, there is now a paucity of information. The only other thing that I have been able to find (on German Wikipedia) is that Jochen Neerpasch was also involved behind the scenes.

Seems there may have been 4 built, at least there were 4 for sale in 2002. Possible only 2 actually ran. There's a couple of pics and a very brief spec here - http://web.archive.org/web/200208040...1/euroc1ss.htm

By 2004 there were still 2 available. More pictures included in this ad but unfortunately all the links are gone.

Thankyou!!! That’s a great find

I had no idea the cars were made by Dallara! They looked amazing to my 14 year old eyes…look somewhat agricultural these days!
