2006 Grand Prix Calendar?
In repsone to a lot of the criticisms levelled at the FIA for killing the great tracks, let's think of the worst case scenario as far as a nightmare calendar goes...
As sad as it is...this is what we might be heading for  Australian Grand Prix - Albert Park Malaysian Grand Prix - Sepang Brazilian Grand Prix - Interlagos Dubai Grand Prix - Abu Dubai Bahrain Grand Prix - Al Manamah Chinese Grand Prix - Shanghai Spanish Grand Prix - Barcelona Monaco Grand Prix - Monte Carlo Canadian Grand Prix - Montreal European Grand Prix - Nurburgring British Grand Prix - Silverstone Russian Grand Prix - Moscow German Grand Prix - New Hockenheim Hungarian Grand Prix - Hungary United States Grand Prix - Indianapolis Italian Grand Prix - Monza [Modified] Japanese Grand Prix - Aida I guess there are a few decent circuits on there. But it just isn't the same is it? All medium speed circuits, most narrow and twisting. It's a shame isn't it, but sadly in this day age, it's the almighty dollar that makes the difference. I am all for Russian GP, but as the 18th race. It would fit. Scariest thing DNQ is that calender has a lot of truth to it. A calender made up of pussified, sanitised tracks that my grandmother could drive around with no worries.
I don't know why they make all tracks the same in different countries. That's what it's like now anyway. |

Well, it's not a chance to abuse max and bernie, it's a glimpse of what could happen. Sadly, that calendar is reasonably likely. Maybe 10-30%.

Oh please, that's not that bad. Besides, Spa's only interesting if it rains, otherwise it's a bore. Plus, it would be better for F1 to spread its wings a little more and move into different parts of Asia and the world.

Considering the fact that tobacco advertising is going off F1 from 2005 there're not much reasons to get rid of European circuits.
Maybe some of dull tracks which were in calendar becuase of adds reason will leave F1 for good? (let's dream) For example Hungaroring, Marlboro track we don't need anymore. And realy I'd arrange Russian GP in St. Petes instead of Moscow. Moscow Mayor, Jury Luzhkov, prooved to be even more greedy than Bernie. I don't believe he's able to build a good F1 circuit, if he can't understand what F1 is. St.Petes is very close to Finland and the city is more beautifull. And it's rainy city... |

Spa looks to be gone and any races on a good track will go to **** ones.
Hence Italian GP is at Enna. FIA keep Silverstone, because all team threaten to leave if it is removed. |

Silverstone is a good one both for the drivers and the fans watching on TV... Not sure about the fans attending though...
Spa in the dry is pretty dull for the fans actually... The nature of the circuit very quickly spreads out the cars. Although a skilled driver may make a difference through some of the corners, it will all be lost if the car is slow down the straights. Still, I hope it stays as it is a really great circuit to drive. |

F1 is meant to be a world championship, but seems more like a European championship at some times. I would quite like to see F1 spread it's wings further afield. Maybe the longer term F1 fans who have memories of the good, old, classic races at some tracks don't want to see them dropped, but nothing in today's world can stand still.

It will be too long for F1 to use and the Japanese wouldn;t allow it to be shortened, so they would go to another track.
