Best looking sports car

The "Biggest redo of a sports car" thread was getting sidetracked, so I thought I'd start this one. Best looking sportscar of the past twenty years or so. For me,

1. Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR
2. McLaren-BMW F1 GTR
3. Porsche 962
4. Porsche 911 GT1-98
5. BMW V12 LMR

And before someone says it, I actually didn't find the Lancias that pretty.

Thoughts, gentlemen?

1. Toyota GT-One
2. McLaren F1
3. Jaguar XJR... (several gorgeous varieties)
4. Porsche 956/962
5. Toyota TS010

You really have to brainstorm this in just a few moments, otherwise your choices change.....

(Notice one thing about mine........? )

You know full well the answer to that MGF!

I can say entirely honestly that in terms of looks (i.e. the question in the thread), the Audi R8 would not feature in my top 20. In fact, the R8C would be on the list before the R8.

Ayse seems to like cars that hide the pilot.

Personally, I've always been partial to open-top cars, but that's what growing up with Group 7 will do to you. Off the top , I'd say:

1. Ferarri 333SP
2. BMW V12LMR
3. Porsche 956/962
4. Peugeot 905
5. MG EXG257 (Particularly in Knighthawk colours)

This list is by no means definitive. It's more of a sample.

Its a good list, Paul and if I were pressed to give an open-top list, the 333SP would be near the top, that's for sure.

3rd Panoz Esperante GTR (with Viseon support)
4th BMW M3 GTR
5th McLaren F1 (Harrods and Ueno Clinic are particularly nice)

tricky one there guys...

1. toyota GT1
2. Porsche 911 GT1
3. Mercedes CLK-GTR
4. Porsche 956/962
5. Bentley EXP Speed 8

notice the amount of cars around the 1999 period, it seems most prefer the GT coupes and the "GT1s" than the newer open-top prototypes?! am i alone on this view?

Let's just keep our eyes on the ball people - the brief was in the "past 20 years or so". The "or so" lets you in up to 25 years, I guess, but that rules out the likes of the GT40 and some of the Ferrari's and Porsches mentioned so far.

Not that I'm all that fussed where we draw the line, but if we go back further, I'll definitely have to re-think my list

Without a doubt.......the Porshe GT1 from 1998 is just as sexy as can be. Even looking at scale models(pictures of the car are hard to find for some reason...) makes my mouth water. It has the smoothness and sleakness of a sexy GT car......put the stance and presence of a proto...
http://www.automotiveforums.com/scal...e/porsche.html

After that, I would say...

Audi R8C
Toyota GT1
McLaren F1 shortail
Mazda RX-792P

Many more, I just cant name them all.
