...the appointment of tuning legend Erv Kanemoto to the role of technical consultant within the Repsol team structure next season.
Biaggi and Kanemoto in HRC, how does this leave Suzuki?

Well it depends on whether Erv being there was the reason why the Suzuki team got a little better in the latter half of the year, he is a great engineer but if you think about logically he has not had amazing results since the Biaggi days.
And before that he had some dire years with guys like Barros and Cadalora aswell as Kocinski.
He does seem to work well with Max though and 98 as an amazing year aswell as his debut year on 250 Honda in 1993.
Looks like Honda are finally doing what they needed to do and getting the people they need focussed on the job in hand,

Max has been the only rider consistenyl able to beat Valentino over the years and not to have as many down days as Sete, yes Sete has beaten Vale fair and square but ha maybe been on better bikes than Max.
If HRD and Repsol are gonna do it, this is their best chance in my eyes

They might have been dire years, but they were also underfunded years; Kocinski, Cadalora and Barros all achieved decent results considering.

These next two years represent Biaggi's last real shots at the title. If he doesn't do it now, he never will. Erv does good work, especially with Biaggi - nice to see Honda pulling out all the stops - so I can't wait to see how Max goes this year. If he can lead the Honda charge from the front - and the Honda boys don't take too many points off of each other - then he should be able to take it up to Rossi.

i predict that edwards will take points away from Max. There is a reason Rossi was so keen to have Colin as his teammate

I agree about Edwards actually, and another reason Vale wanted him there is because he genuinely likes him, note the post Donington frollicking!
But I think Colin will help push the Yam on aswell, he pushes the front a lot as Vale does and can spin the rear so you would think they have similar setups, and he has a wealth of experience droning round developing tyres with Michelin who he did a load of work with on the SP2.
My only fear for Max is that the Honda is not very good on the front end, Sete moaned about it last year and unless Max can find a fix for that there are gonna be some places where he is off the pace coz he pushes the front like no other!

You have to predict that Honda is going to come up with something special this year.

Can you imagine Honda wanting it known that 2 men (rossi/JB) were all that made them great?

Erv or no Erv I don't think Max has it. He was good on a 250 but that is now ancient history. I don't think he has the fire in the belly - his looks and his profile have given him too good a life for too long.
