Seems like a pretty good list, although I wonder whether SuperNova might run Carroll and Rossiter.

Do you know the story behind the FMS/Coloni tie-up? In Italian F3000 this year I thought the FMS team was run by Durango?

Looks like a very strong entry IMO. There's a good mix of experinced drivers at this level and younger drivers who have just come out of F3 and WSBR. Favourites for the title IMO must surely be, Hamilton, Carroll, Piquet, Premat though with Kubica and Lopez as outsiders, for the drivers championship anyway. For the teams im expecting another close fight between, Arden, Art, Super Nova with Racing Engineering being close behind.

FMS is the brainchild of Fisichella and his manager Zanarini. they ran in F3000Italia in 2005 with Filippi and Ciompi subcontracting the running to Durango and will continue with Durango in F3000Italia in 2006 choosing the pair of drivers out of the following 4: Ricci, Bonanomi, Nocera and Valsecchi.
The GP2 deal is a separate story. Nothing is yet official regarding GP2 but FMS to link up with Coloni is a scenario which looks likely to happen.

So why would they not link with Durango in GP2 too?
Presumably Filippi also has a management contract with Zanarini?

Filippi is managed by Zanarini Managment. http://www.zanarinimanagement.com/
Zanarini Managment is providing drivers and sponsorship to FMS
http://www.fisichellamotorsport.com/
FMS is outsourcing the running of the teams to external partners.

FMS might want to buy a share in a GP2 team and Durango might prefer to not sell shares, other teams might be interested. It is getting pretty confidential there and nobody outside the relevant parties will know the precise details and/or part with the knowledge.

And what with Álvarez? Wasn't he contracted by Campos for two seasons?

I recruited some info about the item, then I answer myself this: Álvarez doesn't have enough budget to continue in GP2, and his family don't want to spend their personal fortune in this project. Shame, because this year Juan Cruz shone with some sparks of talent, specially at Spa.

Alvarez always had talent but no money - over the season he was fighting for a podium about six times, but each time his car gave up on him. It's fairly brutal because he needed to impress this year to keep his career going, but was let down by the team. And now it looks like it's back to the farm for him - what a waste of talent.
