They rebuilt their car, but it’s an RS and not an RSR. And nowadays a RS doesn’t impresses the ACO selection committee much

Maybe ACO "forgets" to invite Audi so the French manufacturer Peugeot has a chance to become the first winner with a diesel engine.

Lister

Can anyone tell why the Lister has been selected now?
What have they done compared to Creation Courage or others
to deserve this?

Has AUDI a special status that the ACO MUST invite them on their first list? Don´t forget the diesel discussions behind the official ACO press releases ..

They have a homologated hybrid that has competed as a Hybrid in the LMP1 Class.

I am more surprised that the Zytek Hybrid has been announced as an entry (despite having an entry on merit with the old car) as the CAR does not yet exist. Presumeably, the ACO were satisfied that they would/could built the Hybrid. Courage have, most likely, entered an LC 70--which does not yet exist (as far as I am aware) and Creation have entered a Hybrid--which does not yet exist. Hopefully, these cars will show their wheels in the next few weeks and then, and only then, will the ACO be in a real position to offer entries. I hope they get what they want.

You must mean the discussions about changing all the rules in the favor of Audi right?

Not putting Audi on the initial list can be declared in lots of very sensible ways, but in fact it is something like the ACO showing to the world: "hey, look, we didn't invite Audi in the first place, but had to make up our minds... "

Put it this way: if the ACO don't accept both Audis (they will), it will be the biggest setback for sportscar racing since the inception of the Daytona Prototype.

no, for 2006,, neither the FIA GT1 or GT2 champions had automatic entries into Le Mans.

I believe GruppeM may have only entered one Porsche for Le Mans (the Noble Group entry)

Thanks, 19dodge, that cleared things up.

If GruppeM entered the Noble Group Porsche, then why is it not shown on the entry? Or will ACO decide whether to give it an entry or not only after Sebring?

ACO has to invite them. there were over 75 applications, and only 50 spots..

We will find out the final 12 positions after Sebring

I know. It is just confusing, nevertheless, when the car isn't built or homologated. I guess that the ACO assume that Zytek will make the car and Zytek would not want to embarrass themselves by not building it.

According Racing1.de Saulnier Racing will run the Swiss Spirit Courage. In the last few years the French team was racing in World Series by Renault.

According to Kate Shaw at rfmsports.com , the funding is in place for the rumoured second Zytek entry with Johnny Herbert and Guy Smith at the wheel.

Now that would be one to watch!
Would be my tip for an outside overall win.

Only too little problems,
1, The ACO giving them an entry
2, Zytek building a 2nd car

But assuming both these hurdles are overcome then your right, it should be a good combo with the right 3rd driver.
