New Team to Launch at Oran Park
InterAction Motorsport is a new team for 2008, and will be unveiling their two new cars at Oran Park, Saturday 24 November. The team are proud supporters of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and will be raising awareness and money for the charity at the event.
The team invites everyone to come along, support the AMRS, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and to see the two new racecars, and have your photo taken with the team or in one of the new cars. The wildest lady dressed in pink will win a hotlap in one of the new racecars, and there will be daily giveaways to spectators dressed in pink to show their support.
The 9th and final round of the 2007 Australian Motor Racing Series heads to Sydney's Oran Park 24-25 November. Catch all the Qualifying action Sat 24th, and all the racing Sun 25th.

AMRS to Support National Breast Cancer Foundation
The Australian Motor Racing Series will support the National Breast Cancer Foundation at the Grand Finale round for the 2007 season to be held at Oran Park 24-25 November.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation funds research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. The AMRS will provide exposure to the charity, and also help in the fundraising efforts, with a percentage of admission takings going directly to the Foundation. There will also be plenty of donation points at the circuit where fans and competitors can make donations to the charity.
The final round of the 2007 AMRS will see a number of championships go down to the wire. The Australian Touring Car Challenge will see Darren Saillard and John Vergotis (both driving Falcon Supercars) battle for the title, with just 34 points separating the two. Also in with a mathematical chance of leapfrogging the two is Amin Chahda in his BA XR8 Falcon Future Tourer.
In the new-for-2007 V8 Giants championship, Sam Dale (Ford Mustang Cobra R) will be defending from fast-finishing Gary Leaton (Holden Monaro), with Richard Huer also looking good for a podium.

More news as I get it.

I live in QLD so I can't make it. If you are coming up to the QLD round next year I will come and say g'day. Good luck with your racing.

Bumper Field Expected for 2007 Grand Finale
As the Australian Motor Racing Series heads to Oran Park for the Grand Finale of the action packed 2007 season, the series is expecting strong fields at the popular Sydney circuit.
The Series regulars of Australian Touring Car Challenge (including V8 Giants), Thunder Sports, Oz BOSS, Super TT and Production Touring Car Championship will crown their 2007 champions at Oran Park.
The AMRS will also be welcoming two guest categories. The crowd-favourites, the HQ Holdens will be joining the fun at Oran Park, and a strong and competitive field is expected, with over 26 cars entered for the event. The field will include four cars travelling all the way from Western Australia!
The other guest appearance will be by the blindingly fast Superkarts, with a 29-strong field ready to set the track alight.
All the action gets underway with practice and qualifying this Saturday, 24 November, there will also be a selection of races from mid-afternoon Saturday, and the main racing action is scheduled for Sunday, 25 November.
More news as I get it.

I wish AMRS would use more descriptive category names. I haven't followed the series this year as much, and I had to go digging to find out what "Super TT" was.

I want to go this weekend, but it hinges a bit on one thing - does anyone know what the entry list is like for Super TT? In particular, how many rotaries are entered?

Unfortunately Superkarts does nothing to spark my interest - it is fun for them, not so fun to watch. And last time I saw ozBOSS (or was it "Thundersports"?) it had 3 cars in the final race, each distributed around the track equally - the most boring race I have witnessed.

These are just my opinions, don't mean to offend anyone, but these days of watered-down categories doesn't do much to inspire me to attend. The racing can be great, but it is always such an unknown... we can turn up and find the only RX-7 entered has had an engine drama before the first race.

Also, will the Mazda6 "V8 Giant" car be entered?

Cheers

That surely has to be a G up ???

I was there on Sunday and other than the teams themselves, there was near no one there at all!

While i am in this thread, i have to say that the format to run the ATTC and the V8Giants was the most stupid format i have ever seen! Natsoft showing lap times ranging between 1.13 to 1.26 during the race. Yes its good seeing super fast cars coming through the field but to honest all i heard people standing around me saying was "who the hell is winning"

After 2 years of criticising the AMRS for being a second rate state meeting dressed up as a National series I took the chance of attending a meeting on Sunday when the AMRS came to Sydney.Although the racing in the Touring Car Challenge was good (although the fields were down on quality and quantity compared to their 2005 races at Eastern Creek and Oran Park) most of the AMRS categories were lacklustre and needing to run handicaps so that there would be some semblance of competition. The "guest" HQ Holden category provided the best fields in terms of even competition. However what annoyed me most were the long gaps between races.Through most of the day there was often 20-25 minutes between races for no obvious reason and with no explanation. The meeting fell more than an hour behind time. The contrast between this meeting and the Shannons Nationals meeting at the same venue 3 weeks previously was stark.A further concern was the low number of flag marshalls and other on track officials-maybe 8-10 flaggies for the whole circuit.
