ACO-sanctioned races don't include the GT3 class. Zhuhai will probably have them in an invitational class to boost grid numbers in case there's not enough entries in the ACO classes. Championship points for manufacturers are only awarded in LMP1 and GT2, and for teams in LMP2 as well (I think).

GT3 is a Stephan Ratel thing. ACO sanctioned races will run to GT-E regs from next year, which is a close derivative of the current GT2 regs.

The sun & The metro have both interview Ant Davidson .... intresting little read really. You can see the Manufactures are coming to Silverstone this year much more media hype than 2009 .... I for one am really looking forward to this year lets hope there is a Big crowd like 2008

Whilst I agree that the turn out is often dissapointing, hopefully the organisers will be a little better prepared than the last big race in 2008, the queues to get into the circuit were a bit silly.

What I liked about 2008 I spoke to so many people who had never turned or seen sportscar's before, and explained they enjoyed it so much, especially being able to walk around for the duration. Only thing I would say Silverstone Could do with is maybe some sort of fun fair or something over the weekend to compliment the race. I also enjoyed the Audi and Peugeot stands with the various cars. (think there was the Bentley speed8, Audi R8, Audi R8C. Overall Im looking forward to the weekend.

Oliver Quesnel in a Peugeot Press Release...
"What evolutions will the 908 HDi FAP run for these three races?
"We won’t have any real evolutions; they are more adaptations. We will run the same high-downforce aerodynamic package we used at Spa and Sebring, and we have reverted to steel con-rods for the engine."

My highlighting...

Thursday is Admin/signon/scrutineering. All can be done indoors, so rain is no worry.

Was no problem last year, getting in or out, then again there were no free tickets thrown about like confetti!

Yes, for non-UK viewers!

Gulf's GT2 Lamborghini is a nice addition to the grid. Are they planning to take that machine amnywhere else this year?

Probably too early to ask, but which cars (serial number) will Audi and Peugeot be likely to run at Silverstone? The #9 for Audi (LM winner) and the #3 for Peugeot (LM winner in '09 and tub damage at LM '10) are unlikely to be used. Also, do Audi and Peugeot have spare tubs incase something happens?

Most likely the other two R15+ tubs for Audi (202 and 203) and, since Peugeot are running car number 1 here, they'll probably have the tub that's raced with #1 this year (chassis 09).

Anyone know the SN of the car that Peugeot sold to Oreca (all I know is that it's an early tub)?

And is it known if Audi and Peugeot have any spare tubs avaliable (Peugeot could, and Audi has had to have 1-2 Audi R15 test cars/spare tubs for this year)?

According to RacingSportsCars, Oreca used chassis 04 until Le Mans and chassis 05 for Algarve and the Hungaroring. To me it looks as if Oreca haven't bought the cars, they're running them as a semi-privateer with as much backing from the factory as possible. And they're not exactly the oldest 908 tubs lying around, they're 2008 tubs (although 02 is probably the only one still raceworthy from 07(EDIT: 02 is probably also a write-off, LM '08 test day crash), 01 was a test car and 03 was destroyed at Le Mans in '09).

Yes, last year and '07 were fine, however 2008 was a bit of a nightmare getting in.

Also agree about the lack of other entertainment.
