... but it also relies on us spectators and we have a responsibility to enjoy ourselves as much as possible to ensure we continue to support the race

Rillettes, now that is a local product that needs to be tasted by all our first time visitors, one of the best things i discovered over the 30 plus years i have been going, and it contains no alcohol.

I think I will bring a 5 litres cubi of Bordeaux again. This amounts to about 60 glasses which is a reasonable quantity. A minimum for cheese and charcuterie.

Duck rillettes, even if not a local product, are good too and a bit lighter.

I love the fact that it takes about 110 grams of pork to make 100 grams of rillette

I'm beginning to think that this years meeting will be too big for our normal place in the village?
Last year felt a little crowded and hard to keep track of who is a member and who is just some stranger stopping by.
So I'm thinking if we should try to find greener pastures?

That's sounds interesting but we have to find a place which still remains near the gravity centre of our respective grandstands or point of view for the start and not too far from the Parking Blanc because I need to bring the table and all things, unless someone helps me (not sure if the children will come this year).

i know the timing is a tradition but it's almost a shame that now it's a bit more than just a meet-up and a chat we can't turn it into more of a laid back sitting down type affair in one of the campsites. i felt a bit torn, like i wanted to see more of the pre-race ceremonials and enjoy the atmosphere but the meeting is also an excellent occasion in its own right.

Unfortunately there is a lot more pressure for space in the Village than there used to be and there are lot more of us, which we obviously continue to encourage. There is something about the fact that it is on raceday and fairly close to the start of the race that adds to it. But I certainly see the problem....

The members on the photo who are still attending should be honorary members of the TenTenths meet
I, after a few years of attending, feel it should not be to far from the track for I really don't want to miss the pre-race spectacle. My GS is not to far away so I can attend and watch most of the pre-race spectacle.
Love it the way it is and yes it is getting bigger and bigger.

Well i missed the first few but after the first couple where i was rather nervous of meeting people i know could not imagine the race without the meet, i think we should see how this one goes and then decide if we need to rearrange things after that. This will be my ninth year after i failed to find the group in 2006

It's a shame that there is no more a quiet and large place around the grandstands area, except near or in front the stage of the concerts but it's too far. A solution could be the middle of the new central square, where there is less pedestrian traffic.
About the time window, we have always thought that around noon was the best time and everybody are present on Saturday. We can start earlier (11h30), even if some are missing and look the last morning event .
Or we can decide for another day (Friday). This solution would give us more time for the meeting and a fine place. But in this case some would miss the meeting because they work, have not crossed the Channel yet, or... are not living near Le Mans.
Anyway we can organize as many meetings as we want.

The thought did cross my mind about having a breakfast on the Sunday morning. A chance to digest what's going on together and freshen up a bit. Could be track side or near a screen in the village.
