Unfortunately I can't follow his commentaries, but if Knowlesy says so, I support his opinion, JV don't you ever drive again, you have a future in the show biz.

he was really good, would be good to have him and brundle together on next race main commentary, and less of the shouting man who adds nothing but volume..

JV has a face for radio so it was a perfect job!

A future of commentating for the BBC on Motorsport is assured but will he be happy to do the PR guff expected at the Beeb (such as appearing on Question of Sport and pretending to look interested on shows such as sport relief etc..) because as a driver didn't he hate doing PR and have it in his contracts that he only did 2 days or so a year?

Maybe he could replace his ex missus (danni) on the X Factor as a judge or even be a vocal coach....erm second thoughts... no

^^ As I said in an earlier post in this thread, the JV that has been desperately looking for rides, and willing to drive anything has been quite a bit different from his supposed F1-self of a few years ago. When I saw him last summer doing Canadian stock car races, he was quite friendly with everyone - doing lots of interviews, signing lots of autographs for fans...being a sponsor's pet, and generally being the complete opposite of the character he was made out to be by the British F1 media.

Either his come down from stardom has completely changed him as an individual, or the British F1 media have made him out to be someone he never was... my guess is it's a bit of both.

I'd be curious to hear what his commentary is like.

I think it is possible that fatherhood and marriage has mellowed him rather than a comedown from stardom. If it was that, he'd have mellowed in 19....no, I must resist!

I think it's a one-off outing as far as the BBC are concerned. Ant Davidson was unavailable due to testing commitments with Peugeot but he'll be back for Australia.

Still, if he did a good job (I didn't hear him) I guess he could find a role with another broadcaster.
