Blue should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Honda's suzuka 8 hour line up

No rossi this time. Kato and Ukawa, and Edwards as BACKUP. isn't insult to texas tornado? Kato and ukawa are GP riders, so honda rates them higher than wsk rider? but, experience-wise, Kato should be back-up?

So only one bike this year, a bit of a shame. As for Edwards, i think it is abit of an insult, Kato and Ukawa will be riding an unfamiliar bike, whereas Edwards is on the SP2 all year.

I'd be looking at the nationality thing myself - both Kato and Ukawa are Japanese, and the Japanese manufacturer would want Japanese riders to win the Japanese race!

No barros, he was angry last year. 2nd team is Tamada, okada, and ito as backup.
I don't think nationality affects line up. it's about team winning not a rider. i believe it is because honda simply rates GP riders higher.
you can see the race live on internet or broadband at

I wouldn't mind picking that Edwards opted out of Suzuka this year to not upset his title chase.
Last year he complained that he had bruised and blistered hands long after Suzuka.

I also foresee the end of a "Factory" Honda team in Superbikes.

how about - the japanese riders know the suzuka track better than anyone else ..... maybe the days are gone when europeans, australians or americans care to race at the suzuka 8 hour.....

Thats what I was hoping to get across gomick with all my Japanese stuff!

The 8-hour seems to be a purely Japanese event nowadays.

certainly, but also remember that Rossi and Edwards won the thing last year.

How many FIM spec superbikes are there going to be in the field?

i agree that it's getting local thing. but it has not been broadcasted outside japan. so in that sense, it has been pretty local thing. it was given prstigious status mainly becuse popular world class riders bothered to go to race. but no more...

anyway someone should prevent honda's 6th consecutive wins.

Ah!!!

You shouldn't say that, because I happen to know someone who's entering an American team in the race this year.

Yup!! It's pretty cool. I worked for him for a few weeks, and naturally it was all high-stress around the shop trying to get the travel plans ready for the race.

(Him being my uncle, who owns the shop)
