Mclaren file mass protest!!!!!!!!!!

Stop Press McLaren mass protests on yellows

Team boss seeks clarification over speeding in sectors with waved yellows

McLaren-Mercedes team boss Ron Dennis says he is seeking a clarification on speeding in yellow flag zones by protesting over a dozen of the cars that took part in qualifying for Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix.

Several cars set their fastest sector times during a period of waved yellows while Nick Heidfeld's Sauber was stopped on the track at Stavelot and this is what Dennis and McLaren are protesting. At the time, the track was drying significantly, but Dennis says this is not an exonerating factor.

Ironically, it is believed that one of the 17 cars is actually a McLaren.( )

More news as we get it.

How pointless - especially when one of those drivers is your own!

Ok this decides it for me. Ron Dennis is definitely my least favourite team boss. But EJ is not far behind... Good going HHF!!

Daft as it may be, rememmber Villeneauve at Suzuka in '97? He lost pole for the same reason. I find it strange that the stewards haven't actually done anything this time.

However I think we can look forward to some fireworks from the Wiliams drivers tomorrow.

It would be strange if it was just one or two drivers, but I don't see any feasible way that they can punish 17 drivers.

Why don't they just reverse the grid? :-)

Seriously, he's got a short memory, I seem to remember MH putting it on pole once when the Yellow's were out.

Very easy:
Take away their fastest lap, if it was made during the yellow flag situation, and if they infringed the rule. Basically each of them would end up with either their best time before those last 5 minutes or their best time.

My previous post brings me to another question:

Suppose a driver were to have two flying laps during a yellow flag situation.
Suppose he would improve his sector time during the first lap.
And suppose during the second lap he set have a sector time that was slower than his previous one, but faster than his original sector time.
Would he be allowed to keep the time from this last lap?

But if one McLaren didn't break any rules, surely the other would be quite near the front.
Have the Arrows and Minardi's been allowed to start the race yet?

Yes, they've been allowed in because of the changing track conditions which caused them to DNQ in the first place.

I suppose. When a team starts acting 'politically', it's signs of bad times...

Truckload of kleenex for Team McLaren, please!?!?

And where would you like these crates of Prozac, Mr. Dennis?

This man has obviously lost his last marble and is ready for a very long vacation.
