Qualifying and fastest race lap time difference

I've noticed in recent years how the LMPs ae able to consitently lap in a race much closer to the times they were able to achieve in qualify. Is this because modern LMPs have roughlhy the same power in qualify and the race, wereas in Group C the turbo cars in particular ran much more power in qualifying, or other factors such as better brakes, gearbox etc.

Anyone got any comparisons between qualifying and fastest race laps at Le Mans from the Group C days and the last few years of the LMPs.
