Circuit vs. Airfield
Which type of trackday do you prefer, the fact that you are driving on a real circuit, or that if you overcook it on an airfield, you won't bend anything?

Is there any difference when some circuits have been made from old airfields?

Yep, less things to hit!
I mean the difference between proper circuits like Cadwell, Brands etc, and airfields like Bedford Autodrome etc. Which would you prefer to drive on? |

Well, Hobson's point still sticks - tracks have more things to hit, even if it was once an airfield (like Sebring or Silverstone). Curbs, walls, pits, etc. rather than cones and bales.

I guess airfields are ok but they don't have the same feel as driving a real circuit that has a racing history.
My vote is for circuits every time. |

whilst a circuit may have more things to hit it means you need to be abit disciplined at the end of a day we can all drive like loonies but to get aquick time round a circuit when you know amistake could cost you an expensive repair may be teaches you abit more about what skilled fast driving is really about

I hear you, steve. Circuits provide you with the necessary mindset to prove your mettle. (Oooh, not my dad's car! He's gonna kill me!)
