Last Chance for the Plum Pudding Meeting
After much excitement that the Plum Pudding Meeting was going to have cars this year, it seems that apathy has taken over. BARC Midlands Centre were approached by several competitors and asked to run the car side of things. It would appear that having got BARC Midlands Centre to agree to do so, only a handful of drivers have actually entered, despite their initial enthusiasm.
Come on boys and girls, if you don't enter it ain't going to happen! Sheila |

About 8 entries so far between the Caterhams and the Monos. Not sure of the exact "closing date" but unless there are more entries within the next few days, BARC Midlands may have to reconsider running this meeting, which would be a great pity.

If I have a car I would expect to do it.
My FF1600 won't be inaction but I may have an ERA/F3/FVL. Should know next week... |

Its possible that the problem relates to eligibility. If you are going to have a race for cars why not F Libre for Single Seaters and Allcomers for Saloon and Sports cars. That way you cover a wide range and stand the chance of getting interesting entries.
I'd even consider getting my car fettled (even though the dents would remain) if I could enter. Sadly its too late now I've got other plans. |

It did make more sense to have an open Sports/Saloon race as they have had in previous years - and achieved 30+ entries.

Agreed. Eligibility too narrow. Shame.

We now have a total of 14 cars on the entry list - 8 Caterhams and 6 Monopostos. I would ask that anyone interested in taking part contact BARC Midlands Centre via the main BARC webside as soon as possible. If you are a single seater driver and would like to take part but are unsure as to whether you could be classified as a "Monoposto" again, please contact BARC Midlands as soon as possible for clarification. |

Sheila, I have just requested an entry from BARC HQ. But I only heard about the meeting on 10/10ths, I realise it is too late but perhas all the URS competitors could be contacted?

Now I'm going to sound really silly here - who are the URS Competitors and how would we contact them? Sheila |

Universal Racing Services - who run the FF2000 monoposto series, not exactly sure what the regs are for it.

Think FF2000 cars would go into Mono 1600 or 1800 - can't remember which. I presumed that someone had contacted a representative of some of the championships likely to provide entries, such as URS FF2000.

That's reassuring Sheila - a shame there's not been more interest in that case. I think we had somewhere in the teens for the 'single-seater' races last year (mainly FF1600 plus a Zetec and a couple of bike-engined cars).

8 FF1600, 5 Jedis & a Zetec. The GT/saloon race has 29 in the programme: 14 Caterhams, 8 assorted cars in the GT class, 2 Spridgets & 5 saloons (if you call a Minari a saloon!) Come on guys, get those entries in - we can't let this tradition die out! Last edited by Dave Brand; 26 Nov 2003 at 15:54. |

I have my entry form now so will be entering my FF2000, I assume I don't need to be a member of the Monoposto club and that my car is eligible, must agree that it would be better if it where Formula Libra.

As others have said, if it complies with URS FF2000 rules it will go into Mono 1800 class no problems. Tell your friends!

I thought Caterhams were up to 8 a while ago (from Sheila's post). By my reckoning, there should be about a dozen.

Wasn't a full grid originally expected though graeme? I thought that was the reason that it was a Caterham only (rather than open) race?
