Anyone attending Nazareth...?

I'm going to the qualifying session on the 28th....anyone else headed down there?
I'd go to the race but it's not in my budget right now

Yeah, I'll be there, and I'm really looking forward to it. It will be my first IRL race, and unfortunately the last at Nazareth, which is only about 90 min. away. The Glen will be a much longer treck, but I'd like to do it next year.

I don't think that I'll be there on Saturday though, but there's still a chance. I'll let you know if my plans change.

Yes macdaddy you have a point but shorely if you want to go to an indycar race wouldn't you want to go to an exciting one. I can understand it being close to you esperly the onlyone being far up north but still the race last year was boring I fall a sleep towards the end. Even Hornish couldn't pass Castroneves for the lead in the late stages.

So if a particular race in a particular year ends up being "boring", the owners of the track should just tear it down and forget about it?

Strange logic indeed, Luke.

I've never fallen asleep watching any motor-race in my life.

There's always something interesting to see.

It's not slated to be torn down yet. It may have a future as a test facility.

I wonder if my "torn down" statement was taken out-of-context?

Thanks rush, I am planning to get to more IRL races, as time and money permits.

Before this year, I was always neutral towards this series, neither loving it, or hating it. CART and F1 were my thing. But since the whole buy-out thing, I became disalusioned with the OWRS concept, and Gentilozzi's "leadership" of it. So I gave the IRL a serious look, and I really like what I see here. The drivers, teams and personalities, good TV coverage, and the close action can't be beat here, and the fans are great, real good open minded racing fans!

Don't know why I went into all of that, but there you have it, my journey towards being an IRL junkie and why you'll see me at more races...

Nazareth is a unique test...a flat, 1-mile tri-oval....

The cars that can dial in their handling the best and can get out of the corners are the cars that will race well there....

Sure...there isn't as much passing there as there is at a place like Chicagoland, Texas or Kentucky, but the racing is usually pretty good there....

I go to Nazareth because that is the closest to me Luke.
I don't not go to races because they're boring...races are interesting to attend cus you can meet the drivers and teams and blah blah...the race may be boring but just being there watching it is interesting enough.

And then from there, you could rent-a-car, and drive about an hour-and-a-half to two hours, or get a short connecting flight to Lehigh Valley Airport. Thats the local airport by the track.

You must be serious fan, eh!?

I'm getting into it. Yeah, yeah, I know there's some Brits who are doing OK and F1 is both processional and predictable. But from a spectator's point of view it's a much better sport - depended on where your'e seated you can see a lot more of the circuit.

Having a few invites to corporate boxes might have something to do with it too...

Excuse the bad manners Kicking Back and GP Racer - thanks for the info. Looks like Newark and, if I can get one, a chopper to the local airstrip.

Fly into Newark, NJ rather than JFK or LaGuardia. It's a bit closer, and still an International airport. You may also considering flying into Philadelphia, it's a shorter drive to the track than NYC. If you book a hotel in Fogelsville, rather than Allentown, you will get a better rate with only a few minutes more to drive from the track.
