Std radical engine is rated at 360bhp i think, although this is on a twin throttle system not individual throttle which could release more power.

Powertec claims/spec at http://www.radicalextremesportscars..../indexspec.php

I'd have thought Trevor would be wanting a bit more than that, certainly after the first couple of goes...

This could also be a good option instead of the Powertec
http://www.rst-v8.com

They are claiming 400bhp on mountune's dyno for the 2.4ltr, plus its 20kgs lighter.

Neither engine (like the 2.5 opel) can be stressed it seems

Will, I'll keep with the Hayabusa for the time being, but we have a few developments planned for it over the winter, as i'm sure nobody else in the class will be standing still on development

that looks an interesting engine does that..
Do you racer types prefer a belt driven or chain driven cam revving to 10,000+ or does it not make a real difference?

I only have experience of engines revving to 2500/3000 using belts and cant imagine something doing 3 or 4 times that amount

Belts are easier to tension and quieter than chains, and both will handle the revs.

I remember reading somewhere that the BTCC guys found that belts could stretch at high rpm (not permanently) thereby altering the cam timing and losing them a few bhp! I prefer chains from a reliability point of view - but then I used to be a very-nervous-daily-cam-belt-checking Hart pilot!

How about .......

Trevor Willis in a V8 OMS

Will Mason sharing a Gould

Martin Groves winning the 2006 Championship

Rob Turnbull running the HB Gould which he has now bought from Paul Edwards

give a little more time and I'll think up a few more!

I particularly like nos 1 and 2. Either of which could preclude no 3? Perhaps not.
